Emilia Clarke shared that she broke a rib while filming intimate scenes for her new spy thriller, Ponies.
The 39-year-old Game of Thrones actor recently shared a humorous mistake they made while discussing their new show, which is set during the Cold War.
Ponies is a 1970s Cold War spy thriller following Bea and Twila, played by Emilia and Haley Lu Richardson respectively, as they investigate the mysterious deaths of their husbands while working as CIA agents.
Emilia explained to TheWrap that she was injured while filming intimate scenes with three different actors in a marathon-like session.
She explained that they would repeatedly bring items to her while she remained seated, creating the appearance of intimacy. She also revealed she had fractured a rib during that experience.
Haley Lu, her co-star, confirmed the story in their interview, explaining that the actress actually broke a rib. She described her as small and delicate, suggesting the injury happened because of her slight build.

The awkward moment meant Emilia had to tell her doctor how she sustained the injury.
She was seen out recently after sharing that she experienced a serious mental health crisis following the end of Game of Thrones. She also stated she’s finished working on fantasy projects.
The actress known for her role as Daenerys Targaryen on the popular HBO fantasy series discussed how much the show’s conclusion affected her, as it had been a major part of her life for almost ten years.
She explained that she had a complete mental breakdown, which was a first in her career. She felt the timing coincided perfectly with the start of the pandemic.
The show ran from 2011 to 2019 and featured stars like Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, and Kit Harington.
Emilia told The New York Times that she didn’t start feeling in control of her career and choices until after the show finished. She explained that it took time after the series ended for her to realize she could make her own decisions about her work.
‘So much of my career didn’t reflect my taste, I just sort of shot out of a cannon,’ she added.
Emilia started playing the part at just 22 years old, and it was early in her career – only her third acting role. Because of this, she felt like she never had a chance to step back and think about what the role truly meant.

She announced she’s finished writing fantasy novels, joking that fans shouldn’t expect to see her involved with dragons – or even near them – in the future.
Last June, Emilia Clarke revealed to The Big Issue that she worried about losing her role on the popular show after experiencing brain bleeds.
The actress experienced brain hemorrhages in both 2011 and 2013, which she described as fundamentally changing who she was.
After filming the first season of Game of Thrones, she suffered a brain hemorrhage that caused her to lose her speech and nearly fall into a coma.
The second tumor required surgery after scans revealed it had grown significantly. Emilia has shared that she’s among a very small group of people who have survived with no lasting health problems.
She explained to the magazine that a brain injury fundamentally changes who you are. It also significantly increases any existing work-related anxieties, making them much worse almost immediately.
Initially, everyone was worried about losing their job, fearing they’d be seen as unable to handle the work.
Emilia had surgery to restore blood flow, as well as taking medication to relieve the pain.
