Elsbeth will return in October but with a strange scheduling choice
As a dedicated gamer and television enthusiast with a particular fondness for CBS shows, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and frustration regarding the network’s decision to air reruns before the premiere of Elsbeth Season 2.
Anticipation runs high for the upcoming second season of “Elsbeth” on CBS. The positive aspect is that it’s scheduled to air during the fall lineup. However, a drawback is that CBS once more chooses an unusual release strategy.
As a long-time television enthusiast and someone who has followed the industry trends for decades, I find CBS’s decision regarding the fall 2024 premiere dates to be quite perplexing. While it’s not unheard of for networks to air the series premiere and then take a break, this particular move on CBS’s part seems unusual.
Elsbeth starts with a rerun in fall 2024
Regarding Elsbeth, you’ll need to be patient until October 2024 for her second season debut. Yet, the premier episode for fall that year isn’t actually new content; instead, it’s a replay of an earlier episode.
TVLine has not specified which episode will be repeated. A decision on this has probably not been made yet. Among the possibilities, the series premiere or the Season 1 finale could be strong contenders for a rerun.
On Thursdays, Oct. 10, you can catch a rebroadcast of our show at 10 p.m. ET and PT. This showing follows a repeat of the initial episode of “Matlock,” which begins the new series with an unusual airing schedule.
Elsbeth Season 2 premieres in October 2024
As an excited fan, I can’t wait for the official Season 2 premiere of my favorite show, which is set to air on Thursday, October 17. In its regular timeslot, it will follow the premieres of “Georgie & Mandy’s First Wedding” and “Ghosts,” as well as the second episode of “Matlock.”
Starting Thursday nights, you can expect a consistent schedule for new episodes. Our show aligns with the premieres of NCIS, FBI, and other network programs. However, if you’re a fan of Sunday night dramas, be prepared for a longer gap as we won’t see new episodes until the end of the month.
CBS has an unusual programming lineup. The reason for this schedule isn’t entirely clear, but it could be because several shows no longer receive a full 22-episode order. As a result, we might witness more shows airing between 18 and 20 episodes. This adjustment will help delay start dates in the second half of the television season to minimize interruptions.
