Elon Musk makes Game of Thrones reference, misspells it
As a seasoned gamer and avid follower of tech moguls, I find Elon Musk’s antics on Twitter to be nothing short of entertaining, albeit a bit puzzling at times. His tweets are like a rollercoaster ride, full of twists, turns, and occasional surprises that keep you hooked. The latest feud with Sam Altman, the founder of OpenAI, is no exception.
Elon Musk frequently holds the title of the world’s wealthiest individual due to his leadership roles in corporations such as Tesla, SpaceX, and Neuralink. Notably, he acquired Twitter in 2022 and renamed it X, instigating numerous changes that led advertisers to abandon the platform and user engagement to decrease by approximately 20%. Musk is known for frequently posting on Twitter, discussing topics ranging from the predictable to the peculiar; only recently, he drew attention to his almost 200 million followers that “No one seems to be attempting an assassination” of President Joe Biden or Vice President Kamala Harris, a statement that prompted criticism from the White House.
There’s always something exciting happening with that situation, as Musk often targets Sam Altman, the founder of OpenAI. OpenAI is renowned for its groundbreaking work in artificial intelligence, particularly behind ChatGPT. Interestingly, Musk was once a part of this company but left under less than ideal circumstances before it achieved its massive success. Since then, Musk established his own AI company (named xAI, fittingly, as he’s fond of the letter X), and it seems he’s resentful about OpenAI receiving all the limelight. The announcement of OpenAI’s partnership with Apple in June sparked a fresh wave of angry tweets from Musk, and he hasn’t let up since. A glance through his recent tweets reveals several jabs directed at OpenAI and Sam Altman, including this one where he refers to Altman as “Little Finger.
Sam Altman is Little Finger
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) September 26, 2024
Elon Musk seems to be drawing an analogy with Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish, a character from the HBO series “Game of Thrones“, portrayed by Aidan Gillen. Littlefinger was a cunning manipulator who often pitted characters against each other in his quest for power, which might be the parallel Musk is attempting to illustrate. However, he mistakenly wrote it as “Little Finger,” but the correct spelling is actually “Littlefinger” – one single word.
Users such as Musk have the ability to modify tweets after posting them, but within defined limits…However, being the owner, he could potentially do as he pleases. But, the misspellings aren’t significant; only avid fans of Game of Thrones, like myself, would likely spot them.
