Elmo returns to his wholesome self, promoting love instead of racism and Epstein claims

As a devoted film lover, I’m thrilled to see Elmo’s enduring mission of kindness and all things wholesome once again in full action! However, it’s important to address recent concerns that have arisen following the official X account’s sharing of racist, antisemitic remarks, as well as speculations about the sex-trafficking investigation involving Jeffrey Epstein. These issues are serious and warrant thoughtful discussion, but let us remember to keep our focus on the core values that Elmo represents: love, understanding, and the power of positivity.

On Tuesday, the beloved “Sesame Street” character, Elmo, tweeted his gratitude for everyone’s kindness towards him and the entire community. Elmo sends his love back to all of you.

This week, the perpetual 3½-year-old mascot sparked surprise among fans when he posted a string of hateful messages on Twitter. These tweets contained threats against the Jewish community, calls for President Trump to disclose Epstein’s alleged client list, and accusations that Trump was connected to Epstein’s sex-trafficking activities. In a series of since-deleted posts, Elmo labeled Trump as a puppet for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and suggested the president had been part of Epstein’s trafficking operation.

Apparently, some offensive, hateful social media posts – including those with racist and anti-Semitic content – have surfaced on Elmo’s page. To regain control of this cherished character’s online presence, Sesame Workshop aims to take corrective action.

The inappropriate tweets, unlike Elmo’s usual playful interactions on social media, quickly became popular as people shared screenshots of the concerning posts. “The Daily Show” and Jon Stewart couldn’t resist joining in the fun, resulting in a segment that brought more unexpected attention to the typically harmless puppet.

In the midst of internet chatter, Sesame Workshop, the team behind “Sesame Street,” claimed that Elmo’s online account (Elmo’s X account) had been taken over by an unidentified hacker. They strongly denounced the inappropriate messages associated with this incident.

A representative from company X informed The Times they couldn’t provide details about particular user accounts, but urged everyone to make use of the security measures detailed on their help center page for optimal safety.

Although X hasn’t verified the seizure of Elmo’s account, a suspected hacker posted a link (which was later removed) on the character’s profile, guiding followers to their Telegram channel. On this Telegram platform, the user seems to claim responsibility for the hack and additionally shared a message expressing admiration towards Adolf Hitler and Ye, previously known as Kanye West, the rapper.

Column: Yes, Mr. President, they’re still talking about Jeffrey Epstein

The key political issue surrounding the Epstein files scandal lies in the fact that a substantial portion of the MAGA movement continues to refuse to let it go.

On Tuesday, Sesame Workshop reiterated its claims that a hacker was responsible for the disturbing tweets from Elmo’s account, despite the security precautions already in place. The organization expressed their disdain for the offensive posts and confirmed to fans that they have since managed to secure control of Elmo’s account once again.

Sesame Workshop clarified that these posts do not align with their values or those of Sesame Street, as they had no involvement in them.
