Ellidy Pullin reveals her surprise new partner five years after the tragic death of her boyfriend Chumpy

Ellidy Pullin is in a new relationship, five years after the passing of her boyfriend, Alex ‘Chumpy’ Pullin.

Chumpy drowned on the Gold Coast at the age of 32 in a freak spearfishing accident on July 8, 2020.

Ellidy’s daughter, Minnie, who is now three years old, was born in 2021. Minnie was conceived using sperm retrieved after her father unexpectedly passed away.

Ellidy and her partner had been together for eight years when the accident happened. Although they didn’t get married, Ellidy chose to change her last name to Pullin as a tribute to him.

I’m sharing something a little personal today! I recently mentioned on my podcast, Darling, Shine!, that I’m casually seeing a friend. It’s still early days, but I wanted to share that I’m happily dating someone I already know and care about.

She said dating her friend is ‘a lot of fun,’ and they’re taking things as they come to see where the relationship leads.

We’re both optimistic about things moving forward, but we’re taking our time. One of us is eager for it to happen quickly, while the other is feeling a little hesitant and stressed.

Okay, so Ellidy basically said she’s not going to be sharing pictures of her and her new guy online, and honestly, I’m a little heartbroken, but I totally get it! She wants to really focus on them and building something real before putting it all on display for the world. It’s so refreshing, actually! She’s prioritizing the relationship, and I respect that SO much. I just wish I could see them together, but I understand! It’s good she’s taking things slow and keeping it private for now. I’m living for this mature approach!

She explained that her priority is Minnie, and how Minnie feels about this person is a huge concern for her.

I really value my online community, and I want you all to like this person too. But what matters most to me is that my loved ones – my baby, my friends, and family – have a good relationship with him.

‘I’m nervous about judgment.’

Ellidy recently shared that she has some of her late partner’s frozen sperm remaining, giving her the option to have another child, but she’s also exploring other possibilities.

She mentioned in an interview last year with the Gold Coast Bulletin that she envisions having a child with someone in the future, possibly within five years, but doesn’t picture herself getting married.

Ellidy shared that she’s not looking for a serious relationship right now, but she’s enjoyed some casual romantic connections while traveling.

She famously said that whatever happened during her trip to Bali was meant to stay private, but she never wanted to bring anyone back with her.

‘Right now I’m just really happy with the three of us – me, Minnie and Rummi.’

Rummi is Ellidy’s beloved Kelpie, who was Chumpy’s dog before his death.

It’s been tough since losing Chumpy, but I’ve been so proud watching her thrive! She now co-hosts a podcast called ‘Darling, Shine!’ with her friend Chloe, and she’s landed some amazing partnerships – she’s a Covergirl, she’s working with LIV golf, and honestly, even Schmackos dog treats! It just shows how much people love her and everything she does.
