In 2022, I became the proud owner of a breathtaking 10-acre estate nestled in the heart of Carpinteria, and let me tell you, it was no small feat! This monumental purchase set a new record for the largest real estate deal ever made in Santa Barbara County, a milestone I’m beyond thrilled to be a part of.
According to property documents obtained by the Wall Street Journal, it was discovered that she had sold her coastal property for a significant loss of approximately $96 million within just two years, with the sale going to an organization connected to mining tycoon Robert Friedland.
In the celebrity-filled town of Carpinteria, DeGeneres acquired a grand Tuscan-style mansion that spanned over 9,000 square feet, featuring five spacious bedrooms and no less than eight luxurious bathrooms distributed across three stories.
The house boasted lofty wooden ceiling structures, wooden flooring, arches made of stone, and elegant touches of marble.
The primary suite came with a spa-equipped terrace, as well as dual walk-in closets and baths.
Located near Santa Barbara and Montecito, the estate features a private beach near the bluff.
Carpinteria is also home to stars like Kevin Costner and filmmaker George Lucas
Ellen DeGeneres and Friedland seemingly traded houses, as evidenced by documents indicating that the famed duo purchased the Santa Barbara property they previously sold to him for $32 million in the same year.
In around 1919, the house is situated on approximately eight acres of land. The couple purchased an empty, three-acre plot adjacent to them for six million dollars from a different seller.
In July, DeGeneres announced she is ‘done’ with showbiz once her Netflix special drops.
66-year-old comedian Ellen DeGeneres is currently on her goodbye tour titled “Ellen’s Last Stand… Up,” and the last performances of this tour will be recorded for an online streaming service.
She had her latest tour back in 2018, which was four years prior to the conclusion of her daytime talk show, that came to an end surrounded by numerous accusations about its harmful work atmosphere.
Last month at Santa Rosa, she talked about stepping away from the limelight, and even quipped that she might soon be criticized as “outdated, lesbian, and grumpy,” as reported by SFGate.
When questioned if she might return sometime in the future, she firmly shut down the possibility.
