Ellen DeGeneres was seen sporting a wide smile as she vacationed in Florence with her wife, Portia de Rossi, this week.

After Donald Trump’s victory in the U.S. Presidential election last year, the long-term pair decided to move permanently to England, settling down in the beautiful countryside of the Cotswolds.

Previously, they had been living a secluded life in the star-studded town of Montecito, Santa Barbara, California, post the conclusion of Ellen’s daytime talk show in 2022, amidst an avalanche of claims suggesting they oversaw a demanding and challenging work atmosphere.

Instead, Ellen, aged 67, and Portia, aged 52, appeared to have put aside all their worries as they walked towards the Ponte Vecchio in Florence on a Friday.

Clad in a white half-tunic top and coordinating pants, Ellen gently looped an arm of warmth around her spouse, who gracefully fitted herself into a petite black gown.

On the very same day it was revealed that Ellen is facing a lawsuit for negligence by a woman who alleges Ellen collided with her Tesla at a junction where she failed to stop (as reported by TMZ from obtained court papers), their encounter occurred.

The Daily Mail has contacted Ellen’s representative for comment.

At the stop sign intersection, where every street featured a stop sign, the claimant asserts that they came to a full stop.

She asserted that she checked for any approaching vehicles before crossing the intersection, only for her car to get hit by Ellen’s vehicle on its side.

According to court documents, it’s said that Ellen is accused of causing an accident by disregarding a traffic signal and, as a result, apparently injured the plaintiff. The plaintiff is seeking an indeterminate sum in compensation.

Following the conclusion of Ellen’s show in 2022 amidst a whirlwind of controversy over how staff were treated behind the scenes, she generally stepped away from being in the limelight.

Ellen DeGeneres and her spouse, Portia, largely withdrew from public view in the private community of Montecito, a picturesque area within Santa Barbara that’s also home to several well-known figures such as Oprah Winfrey, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Katy Perry, and Orlando Bloom.

Last year, she made a return to the stage, embarking on a tour titled “Ellen’s Last Stand…Up,” which was later recorded for streaming on Netflix under the title “For Your Approval.

During her tour promotion, she spoke about the controversy that had significantly impacted her career, stating that she was essentially excluded from the entertainment industry due to her perceived unkindness.

Ellen playfully remarked, “You know how challenging it is to dance up stairs? Only a cruel person would do that. If I had concluded my performance with the unexpected line, ‘Have a great night!’ instead of ‘Go f yourself,’ people would have been delightfully surprised.

She admitted that she was unsure about managing as a leader, mentioning that she honed her skills not in a business setting, but at ‘Charlie’s Chuckle Hut’, which is where she gained professional experience.

She noted, as she saw the title of the program was ‘Ellen’, everyone wore shirts bearing the same name, and even the structures on the Warner Brothers set had ‘Ellen’ written on them. Yet, she remained uncertain if this connection implied that she should be the one in control.
