Ellen DeGeneres finally invites fans inside new $30M English estate she shares with Portia de Rossi

Ellen DeGeneres recently showcased her large, contemporary home in England, after moving there from the US last year.

The talk show host, who lost her job in 2020 following allegations of a negative work environment, shared a glimpse of her home in the Cotswolds while filming her dogs, Sport and Kid, playing.

The 67-year-old comedian lives with her wife, Portia de Rossi, the 52-year-old actress known for her role in Ally McBeal.

The kitchen, dining area, and living room all flow together in an open space. Large windows provide a lovely view of the green backyard, even on a cloudy day.

The $30 million home features a color scheme of ivory and a soft, matte beige resembling a mocha latte.

The room features simple, elegant decor. A tiled dining table is surrounded by eight leather chairs, and a glass coffee table and comfortable lounge chair rest on soft, gray and beige rugs.

We also saw stacks of hardcover books about Africa, interior design, and art, along with a horse sculpture.

Ellen DeGeneres shared that she and her family have been grieving since the loss of their rescue dog, Augie, who passed away in May. She said they are now starting to feel better.

It’s wonderful to see Kid playing sports again and bringing so much happiness to our family. We especially love watching his one-of-a-kind approach to the game.

There is plenty of land to roam on.

The farm is full of animals! You’ll find horse stables, a chicken coop, and even sheep roaming around, naturally keeping the grass trimmed.

This video was released a year after Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi moved to England in the fall of 2024.

The actress and TV star has relocated to the English countryside and doesn’t intend to move back to the United States, according to reports.

According to a source familiar with the situation, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi decided to leave the country mainly because of the results of the 2024 presidential election, in which Donald Trump was re-elected.

The couple purchased a house with 43 acres of land in the Cotswolds, a picturesque countryside area in Southwest England, roughly 100 miles from London.

After renovating a property they called Kitesbridge Farm, they sold it for $30 million. This decision came after they encountered issues with flooding.

The couple then purchased a contemporary home for approximately $30 million. The house sits on a hilltop overlooking a village in Oxfordshire.

DeGeneres recently explained that when she and her wife decided to move here permanently, it was essential to find a property that could accommodate their horses. Portia, in particular, couldn’t be without them, so they needed a home with stables and plenty of grazing land.

The area is popular with celebrities looking to avoid the hustle and bustle of London.

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are moving to a neighborhood filled with famous faces. Other celebrities who own homes in the Cotswolds area include David and Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss, Patrick Stewart, Elizabeth Hurley, Jeremy Clarkson, and Damien Hirst, to name just a few.

The area is even home to royalty, as King Charles owns Highgrove House in Gloucestershire.

Kate Winslet used to own a large home in the area, though it’s not known if she still does. Hugh Grant has long been rumored to have a cozy second home in the Cotswolds.

In the fall of 2024, DeGeneres and de Rossi were spotted visiting Clarkson’s pub in the Cotswolds.

Although reports suggested Ellen DeGeneres moved from the US due to the election and the possibility of Donald Trump being re-elected, she had several personal reasons for wanting a fresh beginning somewhere else.

Allegations of a hostile work environment on her talk show have severely damaged her career, possibly beyond repair. The show ended its run on May 26, 2022.

She addressed being ostracized in her Netflix stand-up special, For Your Approval, which came out in late September.

In her comedy special, the comedian joked about being ‘canceled’ and shared what she’s been up to since her TV show ended.
