Ellen DeGeneres, 67, sparks concern with weight loss after finally jetting back to US from UK life

People noticed Ellen DeGeneres looked unwell when she and her wife, Portia de Rossi, were seen in Montecito on Tuesday after returning to the U.S.

The 67-year-old TV host looked noticeably thinner, fueling rumors about a dramatic weight loss.

Fans were surprised to see the couple back home after they’d moved to the English countryside only a year earlier. They had left the United States, citing concerns about life under Donald Trump.

According to The Mail on Sunday, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi were planning to leave the UK and return to the United States for the holidays to spend time with loved ones, likely due to the cold and dreary weather.

Ellen was back to her classic blonde hairstyle, after sporting gray roots for the past year.

People were most concerned about her delicate appearance on Tuesday, and many fans expressed worry about her health following the recent, highly publicized event.

Daily Mail has not received a response to its request for comment from reps for Degeneres.

The celebrity kept their look simple and relaxed, wearing a gray printed t-shirt with a dark navy blazer and jeans.

She completed her outfit with comfortable sneakers and a blue cap, which contrasted nicely with her new blonde hair, creating a relaxed, California-inspired style.

Portia dressed comfortably for their walk, wearing a cream-colored sweater and relaxed-fit jeans as she and her companion strolled along together.

Despite the laid-back attire, all eyes were on Ellen, whose petite frame was on full display.

The shocking outing comes after Portia introduced a new four-legged friend to the family.

I was so excited to see the photos she shared last week! She and her partner welcomed another little one to their family, and it’s just wonderful. They already have a sweet puppy named Sport, who they got back in October, so this new addition makes their family even more complete!

The new puppy arrived in December and immediately hit it off with the other dog, and the two quickly became very fond of each other.

De Rossi cheekily captioned the puppy carousel, ‘Lady and the Tramp’.

The photos included rare pictures of her family, including her brother Michael Rogers, who is rarely seen. This hints that the couple might still be celebrating the holidays in Europe.

In a single moment captured in a photo, de Rossi is standing outside a charming country cottage with Michael, who is with his wife Casey and their daughters.

She captioned the sweet family moment, ‘Family visit in the Cotswolds…’

Although Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi could fly back to California for some sunshine, they seem to be enjoying the holiday season where they are right now.

According to The Mail on Sunday, Ellen DeGeneres has confided in friends that she and her wife plan to spend more time in the United States, as they miss their friends and don’t want to experience another winter in the UK.

According to a source, Ellen previously insisted she and Portia would remain in the UK as long as Donald Trump was president, but she now seems to have reconsidered that decision.

She’s let her friends know that she and her family will be returning home soon. They’re missing everyone and don’t want to spend another winter abroad, and Portia is eager to start acting again. It sounds like they plan to be here for the holidays and stay for a while after that.

The couple, married since 2008, first made their home at Kitesbridge Farm in Swinbrook, Oxfordshire. They put the 43-acre property on the market for $22.5 million in July.

The couple eventually moved to a large house on a hill with plenty of land, including space for horses – something the former actress, a passionate rider, really wanted.

Ellen DeGeneres previously shared that when she and Portia decided to move here permanently, they needed a property that could accommodate Portia’s horses, including space for them to live and graze.

The home has ample room for the family’s dogs, including their puppies Sport and Jinx, and their older dog, Kid.

Despite appearances of settling in, a source insisted the California pull remains strong.

Ellen said they plan to return to California soon. They’re really missing the sunshine and seeing their friends.

A source close to the presenter later denied that any move back to America would be permanent.

The couple seemed to be settling into country life, as they’ve been seen at local pubs like Jeremy Clarkson’s Farmer’s Dog in Burford and The Falkland Arms in Great Tew.

Ellen DeGeneres previously shared that she and her wife arrived in the UK just before the election. She woke up to worried messages from friends, quickly realizing the election hadn’t gone as they’d hoped, and they immediately decided to stay in the UK.

Meanwhile, de Rossi’s close bond with her brother Michael stretches far beyond holiday visits.

Records show that Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have given millions of dollars in loans to their brothers, allowing them to buy expensive homes in California.

In 2015, Ellen DeGeneres helped her older brother, Vance, and his wife, Joanna, purchase a home in Sherman Oaks for $1.439 million. The house has three bedrooms and four bathrooms. Vance is 69 years old.

As a lifestyle expert, I often see creative financing solutions, and this one is interesting! Apparently, this couple borrowed the entire amount for their home from Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, and they’ve promised to pay it back with interest, just like a traditional mortgage. The agreement also specifically states they’re responsible for maintaining the property and keeping it in good shape – which, honestly, is a standard clause, but good to see it’s there!

The couple were reportedly even more generous with de Rossi’s brother.

In May 2019, Michael and Casey bought a four-bedroom, four-bathroom house in Santa Barbara with a pool for $4.9 million.

Records reveal that Ellen and Portia provided a loan of $4,905,420.75 – almost the entire cost of the purchase – with the specific interest rate and repayment period not publicly known.

Michael co-founded General Public, an art company that makes artwork using 3D printing.

The company is dedicated to bringing art to more people and currently collaborates with over 5,000 artists around the globe.

De Rossi has openly discussed how her bond with her brother grew stronger after a difficult situation: her ex-husband, photographer Mel Metcalfe, left her for his brother Michael’s wife, Renee Kappos.

In her 2010 memoir, Unbearable Lightness, she described the shock when her partner, Mel, left her, and then Mel began a relationship with her brother’s wife, Renee. She and her brother were completely stunned and didn’t understand what had happened.

She explained that after her husband left, her brother came to live with her. They both needed support – her husband had left with another woman – so they spent time together, often going out for margaritas and Mexican food to feel better.

De Rossi and Metcalfe divorced in 1999, and De Rossi later shared that the marriage played a role in her understanding and acceptance of her sexual orientation.

After just one year with him, even though I wanted to feel something, my hidden fear of accepting my true feelings was growing. I strongly suspected I was gay, and that’s why I ended up marrying him.

She later met DeGeneres in 2000.

Oh my gosh, I still remember when I found out they were dating back in 2004! It felt like a dream come true, and then, years later, August 16, 2008… their wedding! It was so private and sweet, right in their own Beverly Hills home. I was completely obsessed with every little detail, even though it was a super intimate affair. It was perfect, absolutely perfect!
