Elisabeth Moss Stuns in Black at The Handmaid’s Tale Premiere After Welcoming First Child

At the premiere of The Handmaid’s Tale season six on Wednesday, Elizabeth Moss exuded elegance in a deep-necked black gown and coordinating floor-length coat.

42-year-old actress dazzled in a sleek black outfit while striking poses on the red carpet at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, capturing photographers’ attention.

Elizabeth stood taller, donning a pair of high heels, and amplified her elegance with a sparkling tennis necklace adorned with diamonds.

She injected some vibrancy into her appearance by applying a vivid shade of red lipstick and curling her short, golden hair.

Before reuniting with her fellow actors on set, the American actress, known for portraying June Osborne in the show, showed off her radiant grin to the cameras.

In the United States, the initial three episodes of The Handmaid’s Tale’s sixth season are set to debut on Tuesday, 6th April. However, a specific UK release date is still pending.

The television series draws inspiration from Margaret Atwood’s dystopian novel with the same title, taking place in the theocratic state of Gilead, a republic where fertile women (referred to as Handmaids) are compelled to give birth for the elite, while the remainder of society loses their liberties and basic rights.

In the fictional world of Gilead, June Moss, a Handmaid, is stationed at the residence of Commander Fred Waterford and his spouse Serena Joy Waterford. These two characters are significant figures in the establishment and ascension of Gilead.

In the fifth season of the show, there’s an unexpected turn: Serena, having been banished, finds herself compelled to go back to Gilead, making her connection with June even more intricate and challenging.

It comes after Elisabeth confirmed she’d welcomed her first child.

Last month, she revealed joyous information during a live interview on the red carpet at the 2025 PaleyFestLA for The Handmaid’s Tale.

Earlier this week, the Emmy winner publicly announced the arrival of her first baby, sharing with PEOPLE her unique experience of having her child on set.

She expressed her gratitude, saying she considered herself incredibly lucky to have had that choice during the filming of Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale final season.

As a lifestyle expert, I often find myself expressing this sentiment: ‘There are so many parents who cannot share their professional journey with their children. So, whenever I have the opportunity to bring my kids to work or witness them experiencing my career, I can’t help but feel incredibly grateful and express, “Aren’t we fortunate to have this experience?”‘

In my role as a lifestyle expert, I often find myself sharing insights on various topics, and today, I’d like to touch upon the subject of motherhood. Interestingly enough, these thoughts emerged just a day after I was snapped making my way to an engaging chat on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in the vibrant city of Los Angeles.

Before her latest hospital stay, it was uncertain when exactly she gave birth. However, Elizabeth mentioned during Jimmy Kimmel’s show in January 2024 that she was pregnant.

Elisabeth seemed more than happy to talk about her pregnancy news with Kimmel.

At the time, she had a full baby bump as she chatted about one of her projects with him.

In the lively exchange during the interview, the host Jimmy posed a direct question from the get-go: “Are you actually expecting, or is your dedication as a method actor simply unparalleled?

Elisabeth responded: ‘A little bit of both.’

After several weeks of rumors, it was confirmed when she was spotted on the set of a new production, seemingly pregnant.

She opened up about her pregnancy journey as Jimmy asked her how she was feeling.

The actress said: ‘Not bad, actually. I’ve been really lucky. It’s been going really well.’

The actress asked Kimmel if he had any advice for her in regards to being a new parent.

Jimmy shared that some of the most valuable advice Molly McNearney received prior to the birth of one of their children originated from comedy legend, Bill Murray.

The late-night talk show host shared that he suggested putting up Christmas lights in the delivery room.

Since the lighting in the room is poor, it’s not ideal for the upcoming event as it resembles the kind often found at Walmart. You wouldn’t want such lighting for a special occasion like this.

Elisabeth found the suggestions appealing and responded: “That seems like an excellent collection, I appreciate it.

She first fueled pregnancy rumors while on the set of her new thriller Shell in LA in January.

She exhibited a conspicuous pregnancy bulge while strolling about the set, wearing a spacious pink robe and slippers.

Since Elizabeth keeps her personal matters private, there’s no public information available regarding the identity of the child’s father or the exact date of the birth.
