Elisabeth Moss is known for her roles in two popular TV series: Mad Men and another show that became a global hit. While both were critically praised, the latter recently concluded after six seasons.
So, even though Margaret Atwood’s world is expanding with The Testaments, I’m really excited to hear about Ann Dowd’s new project! She’s doing a limited series called Imperfect Women, and it’s moving from Hulu to Apple TV+. They just dropped a first look and announced it’ll be out on March 18th. And get this – Kerry Washington and Kate Mara are co-starring too! It sounds like a really interesting cast and I can’t wait to check it out.
Annie Weisman created and runs the show, with Moss and Washington serving as executive producers. The series is adapted from Araminta Hall’s novel of the same name and will have eight episodes. Imperfect Women will launch with two episodes on March 18th, followed by weekly releases every Wednesday, concluding with the finale on April 29th. The show was originally announced in March 2024.
The limited series Imperfect Women centers around a crime that destroys a decades-long friendship between three women. This gripping thriller delves into themes of guilt, revenge, love, and betrayal, and how our choices can permanently change our lives. As the investigation progresses, the true nature of their close bond begins to unravel, revealing that even the strongest friendships can hide secrets.
The show features a talented cast including Joel Kinnaman (known from Suicide Squad), Corey Stoll (House of Cards, Ant-Man), Leslie Odom Jr. (Hamilton, Glass Onion), Audrey Zahn (Wildcat), Jill Wagner (Special Ops: Lioness), Rome Flynn (With Love), Sheryl Lee Ralph (Abbott Elementary), Violette Linnz (Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty), Indiana Elle (The Housemaid), Jackson Kelly (The Pitt), Keith Carradine (Deadwood, Dexter), Ana Ortiz (Goosebumps), and Wilson Bethel (All Rise), alongside Moss, Washington, and Mara.
The Handmaid’s Tale Universe Continues
This spring, the sixth season of The Handmaid’s Tale saw the resistance successfully overthrow Gilead and expand their fight for women’s rights globally. However, the series didn’t offer a completely satisfying conclusion, as June was ultimately unable to reunite with her daughter, Hannah, despite making that her central goal throughout the show.
The new series is set 15 years after the original ended and centers on the lives of three women trying to survive. One of these women is Hannah, June’s daughter, who is now known as Agnes after being raised by Gilead parents. Actress Chase Infiniti, known for her role in One Battle After Another, plays her.
It’s currently unknown if Elisabeth Moss will return as June Osborne, though she is a producer on the show. While June is a significant character in Margaret Atwood’s novel, The Testaments, and does appear in it, Moss hasn’t confirmed her involvement. The Testaments will debut on Hulu in April 2026, coinciding with the finale of Moss’s new limited series, Imperfect Women.
