Eliot Leaves Married At First Sight: Bride Too Old For Him

On the reality TV series “Married At First Sight,” groom Eliot Donovan has featured in just a single episode, but he’s now preparing to leave the show early.

In a sneak peek at an upcoming episode of the series, set to air on Monday evening, the bridegroom has a fit of anger in a mobile home.

I, a dedicated admirer, couldn’t help but voice my thoughts about the age gap in our favorite show. My on-screen spouse, the radiant Lauren Hall, is 37, which, to my youthful eyes at 25, seems just a bit too advanced for me – and I’m firm in my preferences.

In the video, the proprietor of a Queensland business makes preparations to leave, having concluded that the marriage is not suitable for him.

‘There was definitely things on my non-negotiables, right?’ Eliot said.

‘I wanted someone that was younger than me, preferably someone under 30’ he added.

As an ardent admirer putting it in my own words, I’d say Eliot himself found his spouse’s affinity towards high-end fashion items somewhat shallow compared to his preferences.

The groom expressed his displeasure, saying, “There seems to be a focus on surface-level things, and I don’t care for designer suitcases.

Lauren, who hails from Queensland and runs her own business, is two years senior to her newlywed spouse – and this age gap proved to be challenging for Eliot.

He added: ‘There’s just some things that I know I’m not willing to compromise on.’

Prior to the premiere of the Channel Nine reality series on Monday evening, Eliot’s character has grown into the most notorious antagonist of the show by 2025.

During the initial 20 minutes of the program, the self-centered businessman sparked disapproval among spectators as he detailed his preferences for a potential partner.

Multiple spectators perceived Eliot’s demeanor as showing clear signs of caution or wariness, especially when he expressed his disinterest in being paired with someone who is overly critical and controlling, and when he voiced his disapproval of boisterous behavior from females.

One viewer commented on X, saying, ‘Given that Elliot arrived with such lofty standards and bossy demeanor, why was he selected in the first place? Some might predict he will turn out to be a difficult character.’

In simpler terms, it means that Eliot has unrealistic expectations for potential partners, as he’s not finding women who meet his standards – he seems to be looking for someone similar to the youthful and attractive actress, Charlize Theron. This is in reference to his partner, Lauren Hall.

One person suggested that Eliot might choose different identities as a woman during the marriage ceremony, and marry himself instead. I don’t see any other way for this idea to work.

Several said Eliot perfectly fit the mold of a ‘finance bro’.

‘Co-owner is a number of small businesses. Say no more crypto boi,’ one said.

In a playful exchange, Eliot introduced himself, saying he was 35 years old, residing on the Gold Coast, and his primary pastime consisted of casually playing with his hair.

Eliot’s time on the show has been nothing short of controversial.

In a surprising turn of events, he eloped from his marriage to Lauren shortly after their wedding ceremony, leaving everyone stunned. However, he later made a dramatic return, causing shock among his former wife and other contestants alike.

The surprising turn of events unfolded following the revelation that his ex-wife, Lauren, had teamed up with golf pro Clint Rice as her new companion.

It was surprising to everyone on set when Eliot unexpectedly showed up hours later than planned, causing a stir among the cast and crew during the filming of the dinner party scene.

‘It was like the ultimate plot twist,’ a source close to the show dished.

Lauren and Clint were gradually growing accustomed to one another, but suddenly Eliot appeared unexpectedly. The expression on Lauren’s face was simply invaluable – she was utterly astonished. As for Clint, he showed no signs of approval whatsoever.

‘Lauren’s new groom Clint let him absolutely have it.’

Eliot’s sudden departure from the wedding reception, hours following his nuptials with Lauren, was front-page news due to his explanation that there wasn’t enough emotional bond between them.

It appears his comeback indicates that there were still matters left untended, not just between him and Lauren, but also with the other parties involved.

According to a well-placed insider, Eliot’s return wasn’t just about mending fences with Lauren.

‘Eliot feels like he was misunderstood,’ the source said.

He has returned with the intention of exonerating himself, yet remains unrepentant regarding his actions. It seems he and Lauren were an ill-suited pair, and his feelings towards ending their romantic relationship have not wavered.

Lauren, after being taken aback by Eliot’s sudden exit, finds herself in the midst of a fresh connection with golf prodigy Clint, renowned for his poised behavior amidst high-pressure situations.

‘Lauren and Clint were really starting to hit it off,’ the insider continued.

Clint has been a source of strength for her, and she’s relishing this new beginning. The comeback of Eliot has undeniably caused some complications.

Eliot’s reappearance sent ripples of tension throughout the cast.

The source stated, ‘There’s a great deal of unease currently.’ They further explained, ‘People are uncertain about what exactly is happening.’

‘Eliot’s comeback has put everyone on edge, especially Lauren.’

From what the source tells us, it appears that several grooms found it difficult to connect with Eliot during their initial encounter at the bachelor party.

‘It’s going to be interesting to see how this plays out’.

The producers seem excited about the surprising turn of events, calling Eliot’s comeback a “season-altering” moment.

‘This is the kind of twist that makes MAFS must-watch TV,’ another insider shared.

Viewers will find themselves captivated by the intriguing love dynamic involving Eliot, Lauren, and Clint.

After Daily Mail Australia disclosed, Eliot had already prepared to leave and arranged for a flight back home, even before the ink on their wedding certificate had dried.

Based on what sources close to him suggest, it appears that Donovan found the stresses of the production challenging and felt swamped by the swift tempo of the study or experiment.

‘Eliot just wasn’t ready for the intensity of it all,’ a source close to the groom revealed.

Initially, he believed he could handle it, but during their honeymoon, things became overwhelming, leading him to choose to leave.

Photographs captured by Daily Mail Australia on August 6 depicted the Married at First Sight (MAFS) team hastily attempting to protect Lauren, who had come alone, during the initial dinner party.

As an over-the-moon fan, I can’t help but share my jaw-dropping experience watching the initial commitment ceremony unfold. In a completely unexpected turn of events, an astonishing three couples decided to part ways within the first fortnight of filming – a twist so unbelievable, it feels like something straight out of a soap opera!

A source revealed that with six team members absent, it’s only been two weeks, and the strain on the remaining crew is immense, causing a significant amount of stress among them.

Introducing newcomers Clint and Lauren, along with partners Teejay Halkias and Bethy Kelly, they’ll also be joining us as intruders to add some excitement.
