“Electrifying” Netflix action crime show that ‘doesn’t get better than this’ gets season 2 teaser

Netflix recently shared a sneak peek at season two of the popular action series Bloodhounds, set to premiere in April. The K-drama earned high praise and a strong 89% rating on Rotten Tomatoes when it first launched in 2023.

This action series follows the stories of two boxers, Gun-woo and Woo-jin, who unexpectedly become heroes after dismantling a dangerous loan shark ring.

The second season of Bloodhounds jumps ahead three years and takes the action to a dangerous new level. According to Tudum, the story now centers around a high-stakes underground international boxing league, promising a much bigger and more intense experience.

After successfully dealing with the loan sharks in season one, Gun-woo and Woo-jin are back and more determined than ever. Gun-woo is fully focused on achieving his dream of becoming a boxing champion, and this time, Woo-jin is wholeheartedly supporting him as both his coach and a close, family-like figure.

Gun-woo and Woo-jin are up against a dangerous new enemy named Baek-jeong (Jung Ji-hoon), who is driven by greed and a thirst for power. They’ll have to fight once more to defend what matters most to them.

Okay, so right from the start of Bloodhounds, it’s clear the fight scenes are really good. The game kicks off with this awesome boxing match, and it ends with a totally incredible fight that just blew me away. Seriously, the choreography is on point the whole time.

Just like with the actors, Bloodhounds highlights the strong connection between Woo and Lee. They quickly establish a natural and easy relationship as two unlikely partners who share a surprising amount in common, despite their different personalities and fighting approaches. This connection will likely be a key strength for them.

Right from the start, the most impressive thing about Bloodhounds is its incredible action. Director Jason Kim and stunt choreographer Park Young-sik deliver a constant stream of exciting scenes – from intense hand-to-hand combat and brutal knife fights, to large-scale brawls and gripping car chases. However, the story itself feels a bit thin and doesn’t quite fill the eight-episode runtime.

Despite its flaws, Bloodhounds delivers as a thrilling action series. Don’t expect deep emotional moments or insightful social messages – it’s a straightforward, exciting ride packed with well-made action sequences that will keep you entertained, even if the story is fairly predictable.
