Elden Ring: Nightreign and The Duskbloods Being Multiplayer Games Doesn’t Mean FromSoftware is Moving Away From Single-Player, Miyazaki Assures
Despite the upcoming releases of “Elden Ring: Nightreign” and “The Duskbloods” for Elden Ring (which is exclusive to Elden Ring: Nightreign and Nintendo Switch 2 respectively) – both being multiplayer games, FromSoftware has emphasized that they are not moving away from single-player experiences.
In a Nintendo interview, Director Hidetaki Miyazaki noted that at its foundation, “The Duskbloods” is an online multiplayer game. However, this doesn’t imply that our company is planning to exclusively focus on multiplayer games in the future with upcoming titles.
Miyazaki confirmed that Elden Ring for the Nintendo Switch 2 is forthcoming, and he continues to focus on creating immersive single-player games in our classic style.”
By using “forthcoming” instead of “was also announced,” this sentence has a more natural and easy-to-read flow.
Starting from May 30th, Elden Ring: Nightreign will roll out its thrilling 3-player co-op adventure on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC. However, it seems that The Duskbloods, the PvPvE experience set for release in 2026, may only be available on the Switch 2, leaving gamers on other platforms disappointed. Oh dear…
