Elden Ring Has Surpassed 28 Million Units Sold, Possibly Outselling the Entire Dark Souls Series

As a seasoned gamer who’s been through the trials and tribulations of the Souls series, I can confidently say that Elden Ring‘s success is no surprise. This game has taken the action RPG genre to new heights, offering an immersive world filled with challenging combat, intricate lore, and a sense of exploration that keeps you hooked for hours on end.

Bandai Namco announced that the game “Elden Ring” has now exceeded 28.6 million copies sold worldwide, with an additional 3.6 million units sold since it reached its previous milestone of 25 million back in September 2024.

3.6 million units were sold within just three months, a remarkable achievement given that the game, Elden Ring, was launched in February 2022. The sales undoubtedly received a boost with the launch of the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, especially since an Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Edition is available, which includes both the game and the DLC.

Without a doubt, the “Shadow of the Erdtree” expansion managed to sell an impressive five million copies within just three days, showing a strong affection for all things related to “Elden Ring.” Furthermore, with over 28.6 million copies sold, it’s likely that “Elden Ring” has outpaced the total sales of the entire “Dark Souls” series. As of 2020, the “Dark Souls” series had moved approximately 27 million units, but since then, it might have seen even greater success.

Elden Ring is available for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC.

As of September 2024, it’s been confirmed that Elden Ring has surpassed 28.6 million copies sold globally, marking an impressive growth of 3.6 million units in just three months since the previous report in June 2024.
