Elden Ring Becomes a Movie in March 2028, Cast Revealed

A24 announced that the movie adaptation of Elden Ring, directed by Alex Garland, will be released in theaters on March 3, 2028. Filming is currently happening and will utilize IMAX technology for a fully immersive experience.

The announcement follows recent sightings of the filming location in a UK park, where fans were able to see a recreation of Limgrave and a Church of Marika, including the statue within. Along with the release date, the actors and actresses in the film have now been confirmed.

  • Kit Connor (Warfare, Heartstopper)
  • Ben Whishaw (Peter Hujar’s Day, This is going to Hurt)
  • Cailee Spaeny (Alien: Romulus, Civil War)
  • Tom Burke (Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Black Bag)
  • Havana Rose Liu (Tuner, Bottoms)

We don’t yet know who will star in the movie, or what the story will be. But considering how ambiguous the original video game’s plot is, and knowing director Alex Garland’s style, the adaptation will likely be similarly open to different interpretations.

Alex Garland, known for directing and writing films like Ex Machina, Annihilation, Men, and Civil War, is leading the Elden Ring movie. Hidetaka Miyazaki, the creator of Elden Ring from FromSoftware, is closely involved in the project as a guide.
