Eileen Fulton, ‘As the World Turns’ soap star, dies at 91
Actress Eileen Fulton, famously recognized for portraying Lisa Grimaldi in the long-running CBS daytime drama “As the World Turns,” passed away at the age of 91.
On July 14, Fulton passed away in Asheville, North Carolina, following a spell of deteriorating health, as mentioned in an obituary published by Groce Funeral Home in North Carolina.
For nearly five decades, starting from 1960 up until the series finale in 2010, Fulton portrayed the role of Lisa with only brief absences. Initially, she played a malevolent character, admitting to The Times in 1990 that Lisa was “a manipulative, shrieking sorceress” who “lied and demanded things her way,” which caused many viewers to dislike her. Over the years, her character got married a total of eight times on the show.
With passage of time, Lisa transformed and “grew and learned from her own errors.” Fulton noted that she started getting heartfelt letters from admirers who appreciated the character’s spirit.
