Story Highlights
- eFootball Championship 2026 kicks off with the FC Barcelona Club Event.
- Tournament keeps Club Events and Open format, with qualifiers across global regions.
The eFootball Championship, KONAMI’s biggest esports event of the year, is returning in 2026! This competition is open to players on both mobile devices and consoles. Here’s a detailed look at how the 2026 Championship will work, including the format, schedule, and other important information.
eFootball Championship 2026 Format: Club Event and Open
Similar to last year, the event will focus on two key competitions: the eFootball Championship Club Events and the eFootball Championship Open. These offer opportunities for players of all levels to compete and improve their rankings.
Club Events
The 2026 season will once again feature Club Events, sponsored by popular football clubs including FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, AC Milan, Inter Milan, and Manchester United.
Club Events begin with four online qualifying rounds, divided by region: Europe & Africa, the Americas, West Asia, East Asia, and Oceania & Other Regions. The winners from each region will compete in the Club Finals, and the top players will then advance to represent their clubs at the World Finals in Summer 2026.
The eFootball™ Championship 2026 begins September 18th! Whether you play on mobile or console, this is your chance to compete for a spot in the World Finals. Let’s become champions together! #BeChampions #eFootball #Championship

The eFootball Championship Open will continue to be open to players around the globe, maintaining its traditional format. While KONAMI hasn’t shared all the specifics yet, it’s likely to be similar to how the competition was run in 2025.
Okay, so here’s how the competition works: it looks like everyone starts out competing on pretty much every platform – PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, even mobile. But as it goes on, it’ll focus more on mobile and PlayStation players. Then, the best players from each region will make it to the World Finals where they’ll battle it out for the championship. Pretty standard stuff, but good to know how the path to victory looks!
eFootball Championship 2026 Schedule, Prize Pool and where to watch
Schedule
The competition for 2026 has started with an event hosted by FC Barcelona. The first two rounds are currently happening and will finish on September 24, 2025. We’ll be seeing more events from our partner teams in the months ahead.
The complete schedule isn’t available yet, but based on the 2025 season, we anticipate several qualifying events throughout the year, leading up to the World Finals in July 2026.
Prize Pool
KONAMI hasn’t announced the prize money for the 2026 season yet. Last year’s eFootball Championship 2025 awarded $20,000 to the winners in both the Mobile and Console divisions, with prizes also given to the top 16 players. We can probably expect a similar payout structure this year, and I’ll share the official details as soon as they’re released.
Where to Watch
You can watch all the Club Event Finals live on the official eFootball YouTube and Facebook pages, as well as on each club’s own social media channels. After the event, full replays and individual matches will be available on YouTube.
