If you attempt an action, like a low pass, but the game’s AI determines it’s not the best choice, it will automatically switch to a lofted chip instead. This applies to other in-game actions as well. Smart Assist gives you a helping hand when you’re on offense, improving your dribbling, passing, and shooting. It even subtly guides your player’s movement while dribbling. But it really shines on defense! You can enable it by going to Extras > Game Settings > Play Settings > Smart Assist.

I just realized that with Smart Assist on, you can’t run the ball out of play. The AI automatically keeps the ball within the pitch and even starts shielding without input. It makes dribbling much easier since you don’t have to worry about crossing the line. Absolutely crazy.

Defending advantages
Right now, the best part of the game is definitely the defense, and Smart Assist really shines here. It automatically clears the ball when you’re in trouble near your goal, helping you avoid dangerous situations. Plus, defenders are much more reliable – they stay between the attacker and the goal instead of making risky moves or getting caught out of position.
