Excitement mounts for eFootball 2026, and KONAMI has confirmed that the highly-anticipated Season Update v5.0.0 will be rolled out sometime in the summer of 2025, between August and September.

The last big update brought in a majority of new features to eFootball

In September 2024, we rolled out our significant version update, v4.0.0. This update introduced several exciting modifications that gave the game a fresh feel. It showcased a vibrant and updated user interface, incorporated weather elements in matches, and presented Double Boosts for player cards as a new feature.

Throughout this gaming season, we’ve witnessed some notable upgrades. For instance, the introduction of stadiums following the 4.2.0 update was a great addition to the game. I must admit, the new Show Time skills have been polarizing – not everyone seems to be on board with them yet. However, the arrival of new Epic Cards and the AI Mode eFootball League has definitely spiced up my gaming experience. Furthermore, Targeted Skill Training has also added a layer of depth that I find intriguing.

In the new update, we’ll be cleaning out old data associated with inactive user accounts. Any saved data that hasn’t been accessed for more than half a year, particularly from users who haven’t signed in or played a game within that period, might be removed.

This year, what can we expect? Is it time once more for the Master League? It seems Konami may have overlooked it. What was initially planned… Apart from that, I’m not quite sure how to phrase my thoughts, but enhancements in gameplay are definitely required.
