eFootball 2026 is reportedly getting a new pack opening animation

Story Highlights

  • eFootball 2026 is reportedly getting a brand-new pack opening animation, as per leaks.
  • The animation shows a player kicking a ball with eFootball logos scrolling around.
  • Once the ball lands, it reveals the player tier before showing the final reveal.

If you’re not receiving Epic cards in the game, this update might seem irrelevant to you, but just a friendly joke. eFootball 2026 is rumored to have an exciting new pack opening animation coming up, and based on leaks, the first half animation appears to be quite intriguing.

Based on the leaks that have surfaced, it appears that the Chinese version of the game has demonstrated a pack opening sequence. In this scene, a player will sprint to kick a ball towards the center, with eFootball logo signs scrolling by. Upon the ball’s landing at this spot, you’ll receive a player-tier designation, such as four stars, and then the current reveal animation will play out.

The animation feels similar to the classic black ball openings from the PES era

This animation is somewhat similar to the black ball feature found in the PES series. In this mini-game, there were varying rarities: silver, gold, and black balls that scrolled across the screen, and you needed to tap the screen to catch them. The rare black balls even had a lightning animation.

After eFootball was rebranded from PES, the way pack openings are presented has experienced some modifications. However, a significant number of fans have expressed that these new animations don’t compare to the thrilling impact of the old PES days. In eFootball 2022 and 2023, the animations were rather straightforward, featuring only the illumination of the stadium and the players being unveiled.

The animation is generally good, but it needs improvement when it comes to consistency. In the form of a stadium, the eFootball logo illuminates, and we occasionally see a vibrant blend of colors, including yellow, orange, and red. Unfortunately, some Epic cards haven’t activated this feature; hopefully, the eFootball 2026 animation will rectify that issue.

As a devoted admirer, it seems the release of this animation is taking longer than anticipated. Given its resemblance to PES, I’m eagerly anticipating the creative “hints and tactics” that YouTubers might concoct for their channels. However, let me remind you, every stroke in this masterpiece appears to be random.

Although it hasn’t been formally verified yet, we can expect to learn more about it when eFootball 2026 launches in mid-August 2025.
