Things are starting to look up for eFootball 2026 as we move further into the year. Konami has a lot planned, including updates, features fans have been waiting for, and new content for the season. The next few months will be important for the game’s future.
Although Konami hasn’t officially revealed their plans, we’ve put together a likely roadmap for eFootball 2026, anticipating the release of eFootball 2027.
eFootball 2026 events and update roadmap: All possible arrivals explained
v5.4.0 update and Master League (April 2026)
Okay, so April’s looking pretty big! We’re probably getting a major update – looks like Version 5.4.0 – to kick things off, which should set the stage for everything coming later. But honestly, the thing I’m most excited about is Master League coming back! I’ve been waiting for that!
As we previously shared, Master League is returning to the eFootball series. KONAMI officially announced this in February 2026 during the eFootball CONNECT: Spotlight Interview, which fans have been eagerly awaiting for years.
Fans have been eagerly waiting for a dedicated mode since the game changed from PES to eFootball. It’s expected to be revealed through an in-game event around April, and we’re anticipating a lot of excitement when it arrives.
9th Anniversary Celebrations (May 2026)
eFootball is marking its 9th anniversary as a mobile game, building on the legacy of the popular PES franchise. The series as a whole is celebrating 30 years, and many iconic players have been featured throughout its history.
I don’t think we’re getting a huge new update right now, but honestly, the anniversary events always give us some free stuff. So I’m hoping we’ll see something similar to what we’ve gotten in past events – they usually follow a pretty predictable pattern.
World Cup campaign (June to July 2026)
We’re planning a major content release around the middle of the year, potentially themed around the World Cup. This timing is strategic, as we’ve seen strong results with similar releases in the past.
Here’s a possible look at what’s coming in eFootball! ⚽️
💠 Master League is expected in April.
💠 We’ll be celebrating the game’s 9th anniversary soon! 🎉
💠 A special World Cup campaign is on the way! 🔥
💠 Could eFootball 27 be released in August?? 🗓️What are you looking forward to the most? 🤔
Just a reminder: this information isn’t official! #eFootball2026

We’re planning a big gameplay update soon, coinciding with the World Cup. Expect global tournaments and special challenges tied to the event, plus limited-time packs containing 1500 coins – these packs could also include a rare Epic card.
eFootball 2027 seasonal update (August 2026)
We’re expecting a major update for eFootball in August, likely bringing the game closer to its 2027 version. This update, similar to the v5.0.0 update for eFootball 2026, will probably include things like updated player rosters, new transfers, improvements to how the game plays, and possibly new types of player cards. We might also see new licenses and features added.
Currently, we’re still waiting for official details about the update. It could expand on features we’ve seen this year, like improvements to Master League, depending on how the update is released.
