eFootball 2026 Epic World Player of the Year 2025 pack review

KONAMI has released a special pack in eFootball 2026 celebrating the World Player of the Year 2025, which corresponds to this year’s Ballon d’Or award. The pack features three powerful Epic cards: the winner, Ousmane Dembélé, has a uniquely designed card, while cards for runners-up Lamine Yamal and Vitinha are also available.

This new set of cards looks impressive and seems designed to be strong additions to almost any team. But the big question is: does it actually deliver on the excitement, or is it something you can safely pass on? Here’s my opinion.

eFootball 2026 Epic World Player of the Year Players

Ousmane Dembélé

  • Position: CF
  • Playing Style: Goal Poacher
  • Show Time Skills: Momentum Dribbling and Visionary Pass

Dembélé playing as a Center Forward might be a point of discussion, and this version of him feels very similar to one of his best past cards. That older card featured a skill that allowed for incredibly quick bursts of speed. This time around, KONAMI equipped him with skills focused on dribbling with momentum and making insightful passes.

This card is very similar to the Show Time Mbappe poacher card, making it easy to mistake one for the other. Like Mbappe, Dembele is a really enjoyable card to play with. He finishes chances reliably and his dribbling skills make him a powerful player.

Playing him as a main striker can be tough – he’s not strong enough to consistently win challenges against defenders. However, he’s much more effective when played on the wing or as a second striker, where he can really cause problems. While he isn’t a huge improvement over his previous version, he’s still a difficult player to defend against when used in the right position.

Lamine Yamal

  • Position: RMF
  • Playing Style: Cross Specialist
  • Show Time Skills: Momentum Dribbling and Edged Crossing

Yamal brings a unique style of play that stands out. Players like him are typically known as creative playmakers or strong wingers, so seeing him excel as a crosser is a welcome change and really suits his natural abilities.

His skillful ball control, known as Momentum Dribbling, makes him appear fluid and confident with the ball. Combined with his precise Edged Crossing, he consistently delivers dangerous passes into the penalty area. Despite adapting to a new style of play, he remains comfortable and effective playing on the wing.

He’s not just running forward aimlessly; he’s a skilled player who creates genuine scoring opportunities. While he can dribble inside when necessary, he’s most effective staying wide and delivering accurate crosses – his excellent passing ability is a major strength.

He frequently moves wide to the sidelines, and I think this might be affecting his ability to finish shots, even though he’s generally good at finishing. He *can* cut inside and shoot, but long shots don’t seem to work as well with this version of the card – they lack the power of his previous Big Time card. Overall, he’s still a solid winger to have on your team.

Vitinha

  • Position: CMF
  • Playing Style: Orchestrator
  • Show Time Skill: Phenomenal Pass

Vitinha is a well-rounded player who excels in midfield. He offers a great balance of attacking and defensive skills, making him an ideal Defensive Midfielder (DMF), especially if you’re using Fabio Capello as your manager. He’s particularly strong at linking up play with other players.

He excels at covering ground and has excellent passing ability, consistently delivering accurate passes over long distances. While defensively sound enough to play a deeper role, he’s most effective when paired with a strong, physical defensive midfielder and given the freedom to control the pace of the game.

Unlike most central midfielders who run all over the field, Vitinha feels more like a player who connects everything together. However, I think a central midfield build suits him best, though he’s still capable of playing as a defensive midfielder. His strengths in dribbling and passing really shine in that midfield role.

Verdict on the eFootball 2026 World Player of the Year 2025 players

This pack is getting a lot of attention because of its Ballon d’Or theme, but it’s not essential to try and get. It features a well-rounded set of players, but it won’t dramatically improve your team, particularly compared to other recent packs.

While everyone played well in their roles, we could have performed better with improved skills overall. It’s hard to fault KONAMI, as the top three players didn’t have a huge point difference, but the card designs were fantastic – I especially loved the Dembele background!

Pack Rating: 2.5 out of 5
