eFootball 2026 releases new ‘Epic Packs’ frequently, and this week’s is worth checking out. Unlike some previous packs, like the Manchester United one, it doesn’t feature a ‘Big Time’ card, but the ‘Epic European Clubs Guardians’ pack contains some impressive players for eFootball 2026.
This set of players, featuring stars like Gerard Piqué, Denis Irwin, and Massimo Ambrosini, is designed to help you strengthen your defense. While some might question the overall strength of this group, I’ll share my full assessment and final thoughts in this review.

Gerard Piqué
- Position: CB
- Playing Style: Build Up
- Showtime Skill: Aerial Fort and Long Reach Tackle
Okay, so I’ve been checking out Piqué’s stats, and wow, his Build Up is seriously impressive. What really jumps out at me is that he’s got two defensive Showtime skills – Aerial Fort and Long Reach Tackle. Honestly, just having those two alone makes him one of the best defenders in the game, in my opinion.
When you consider his height, strength, and skill with the ball, he appears to be a well-rounded center-back. His defensive stats are consistently strong in areas like positioning, challenging opponents, and making tackles, and he’s also confident when possessing the ball.
He’s ideally suited to a build-up play style, and few players compare – the closest is probably Koeman, but he’s a more aggressive, destructive player. With his height and Aerial ability, he should win most aerial battles comfortably. While some worry about his speed, that concern seems exaggerated.
If you build him correctly, he’ll have around 85 speed and 80 acceleration, which is plenty for what he does. As a center back focused on building plays from the back, he won’t be running up the field much anyway. Good positioning and long reach will help him easily handle opposing forwards.

Denis Irwin
- Position: LB
- Playing Style: Offensive Full-back
- Showtime Skill: Acceleration Burst and Edged Crossing
Irwin continues to be a dependable and versatile left-back. While he’s never been physically imposing or particularly tall, his consistent performance has always been his greatest asset – I know this firsthand, as I still use his highly-rated card in my team.
He’s well-rounded, capable on both offense and defense, but could benefit from a few more skills. His strength lies in getting past defenders, and improving his passing and curl abilities will make him even more effective.
Acceleration Burst really enhances his ability to quickly move past defenders, create openings, and get the ball into the box early. He’s defensively reliable, though not a top-class tackler. As an attacking fullback, he doesn’t have any major flaws – there are certainly players who are better, but this is a really strong card overall.

Massimo Ambrosini
- Position: DMF
- Playing Style: Destroyer
- Showtime Skill: Fortress
Ambrosini seems like a surprisingly good player who doesn’t get the recognition he deserves. He’s statistically very solid on defense, and can play as either a defensive midfielder or center back. Even with adjustments, his defensive positioning, how actively he challenges opponents, and his tackling ability are all excellent.
He could achieve excellent stats as a center-back, possibly around 106-107 overall, but with so many strong Destroyer center-backs available, he’s more effective as a defensive midfielder. That position better utilizes his existing strengths.
He’d be great playing as one of two defensive midfielders, disrupting the opponent’s attacks and letting a more attack-minded teammate move the ball forward. I would have preferred a defensive stat instead of the ‘Fortress’ ability, but he’s a solid player overall.

This team composition focuses heavily on defense, featuring a solid center-back, a dependable full-back, and a powerful defensive midfielder. It’s a well-rounded approach with three strong defensive players, offering a different strategy compared to many attack-focused teams.
If I’d spend money on this pack? Definitely. As a Barcelona fan, I’m excited about Piqué – he’s a really strong player, and it’s rare to find center-backs who can play the ball so well. He’ll make our build-up play from the back much smoother. The other players aren’t top-tier, but they could still be useful.
