As a huge eFootball fan, I’m really excited about the new ‘Epic and Show Time Breakthrough Pass B’ pack! It’s bringing back some legends with updated stats – Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Lothar Matthäus are both looking great! Plus, they’ve added new Show Time versions of current stars like Julián Álvarez and Enzo Fernández. And it sounds like there’s a new gameplay mechanic being introduced, which is always fun to try out!
This collection is for those who’ve been waiting for King Kalle. It includes powerful Epic and Show Time cards, but the question is whether it’s worth purchasing. Let’s examine it more closely.
eFootball 2026 Epic and Show Time Breakthrough Pass B players
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge
- Position: CF
- Playing Style: Goal Poacher
- Showtime Skill: Phenomenal Finishing and Blitz Curler
Rummenigge’s player in eFootball has always felt unique. It’s difficult to put into words, but he’s remarkably easy to control. Receiving, turning, and accelerating with him feels incredibly fluid, and once he builds up speed, defenders find it very hard to keep up.
I’ve been using his work – first the Captain Tsubasa version, and then the Germany card – for quite a while, so I have a good basis for comparison. And compared to those, this new version definitely feels like a step up in several ways.
He’s still very fast and quick, which is important for a forward, but what really impresses is his control of the ball. His dribbling and balance let him keep possession easily, turn on a dime, and move into open space fluidly. This also noticeably improves his ability to finish plays.
He’s a very dependable player inside the box, and his strong kicking ability allows for powerful shots. He’s comfortable using both feet, making him unpredictable when shooting from various positions. While not a standout in the air, he’s still capable of winning headers when balls are crossed into the box.
I don’t think the curl stat on this Blitz card is very good – it’s quite low, and noticeably impacts gameplay. Features like Momentum Dribbling or Acceleration Burst would have been much better, but it seems like they’re holding those for a future card release.
I’ve always noticed that Rummenigge cards show a good amount of hustle on defense. While his defensive stats aren’t amazing for a striker, you can often see him win the ball back from defenders with his pressing, which sometimes leads to fast break goals.
Lothar Matthäus
- Position: CMF
- Playing Style: Box-to-Box
- Showtime Skill: Phenomenal Pass and Fortress
Matthäus remains a remarkably well-rounded midfielder. He’s always been my preferred box-to-box player in eFootball, so I decided to try my luck with this pack. This version feels more naturally suited to that dynamic, all-around role compared to his previous card, which leaned more towards a defensive midfielder.
His best skill remains his passing ability. He consistently makes accurate short passes, reaching the high 90s in terms of speed, and his long passes have significantly improved. He also continues to be a solid defender.
Depending on his setup, he consistently wins the ball back with strong awareness, tackling, and engagement. His ability to both pass effectively and defend reliably makes him a dependable player in midfield.
I’ve always appreciated that Matthäus cards offer some attacking potential. While his stats might not show a prolific goalscorer, his strong shooting and smart runs allow him to score from distance or make late runs into the box.
Julián Álvarez
- Position: CF
- Playing Style: Goal Poacher
- Showtime Skill: Low Screamer and Acceleration Burst
Honestly, I think Julián Álvarez might be my favorite forward right now, and I know that’s not a super popular opinion. He’s just so dynamic! He’s not a typical target man; he’s all about quickness, agility, and making those really sharp, dangerous runs into the box. He’s super exciting to watch.
He’s a very aware and quick striker, which are key qualities for the position. He also has great dribbling skills, perfect for his role. He’s comfortable and in control of the ball, with excellent balance and ball control, meaning he can carry it effectively.
He’s quick and nimble, making it easier for him to get past opponents. He’s a strong finisher, and his powerful kicks mean his shots are likely to score. I think his combination of Low Screamer and Acceleration Burst is more effective than Rumme’s.
Enzo Fernández
- Position: CMF
- Playing Style: Box-to-Box
- Showtime Skill: Phenomenal Pass
Okay, so Enzo’s a pretty good card, but you’ve gotta play him right. He’s not a defensive midfielder – don’t expect him to be winning the ball back constantly like a player such as Matthäus. He’s better going forward, so use him that way!
He truly excels with the ball at his feet. His ball control, close dribbling, and passing are all top-notch. He consistently delivers passes around 90-95 mph, making him very reliable when building attacks, particularly if you prefer a fast-paced, flowing style of play between the midfield and forwards.
Good dribbling skills are also valuable for a central midfielder, as they allow for better ball progression. Instead of simply passing, a player can use dribbling to move the ball through the middle of the field and advance the attack on their own.
Best pick from the Epic and Show Time Breakthrough Pass B pack in eFootball 2026
Let’s break down this pack. I see at least three players who could be top choices. The cards are generally very strong statistically, making this a good pack to try and get something good from. However, my potentially controversial opinion is that Alvarez is the best overall pick, and could be the most effective and versatile ‘Goal Poacher’ card available.
Rummenigge’s potential 108-rated card looks pretty good – he’s fast and strong. It might sound a bit far-fetched, but I think he could get an even better card later on with improved Showtime skills, and that’s what I’m hoping for.
Here’s my final cards tier list and pack rating.
| Tier | Players |

| SSS (Endgame) | Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Lothar Matthäus, Julián Álvarez |
| SS (Excellent) | Enzo Fernández |
