KONAMI’s eFootball 2026 is easily one of the top football games available on mobile. Recent updates have added exciting new features like Co-op Mode and My League, and collecting the best players and managers feels more rewarding than ever.
The new features significantly improve the overall gaming experience in eFootball 2026. One key addition is the Skill Training program, which allows players to develop and enhance their abilities.
Many players have been asking about how Skill Training works in the game. This article will explain how the Player Skill Training Program is set up and how to use it in eFootball 2026.
Player Skill Training Program in eFootball 2026
Overview
The latest update to eFootball 2023 (Season 4) brought back a well-loved feature from older PES games. I especially enjoyed it back when it was paired with Position Boosters – a feature we unfortunately no longer have.
In the PES game, skill tokens could only be used on players with nine or fewer skills, and each player could receive only one token for training. These tokens could replace existing skills, and were generally available in large quantities.

We’ve made a significant update to the skill system! Now, each player on your team can equip up to 5 more skills, bringing the total maximum to 15. You’ll also be able to freely remove and change skills as needed. I’m really excited about this change – previously, players were limited to just 10 skills.
Players can learn a maximum of 5 extra skills, even if they’ve unlocked almost all of them. Once you’ve assigned skills, you can click the info button to see what each one does.
Performing Skill Training on a player
You can perform skill training by following simple steps.
- Go to the My Team to access your players.
- Pick a player of your choice and select Skill Training. It will take you to the player’s skill menu.

- In the additional skill section, there is a New Player Skill option, which allocates a new skill for the player. You can also check the details of all the skills in the Skill List option.
- On the top right side, you can see the number of Skill Training tokens remaining. Next, perform the skill training, and the skill will be allocated.
The system works randomly, but you can replace a player’s existing skill with a new one through training, effectively removing the old skill.
An alternate way to perform Skill Training
This method is a straightforward way to train skills, but it can be inefficient if the resulting skill isn’t useful for the player. For instance, if a forward learns a skill typically used by defenders, it won’t benefit them, essentially making the training a waste of resources.
Step 1: Purchase a no-skill player
Here’s a simpler method to make the most of your skill tokens and avoid wasting them. Follow these steps for a more efficient way to assign them.
- Go to the Contract section on your Dream Team homepage.
- Select the Standard Player List in the section. The player list will be displayed here.
- Now you have to check for those players who do not have any skills. Mainly, the lower-rated players do not have any.

- For sorting them, click on Sort, and in the menu, check for Price. Before clicking it, select the arrow on the right facing upwards to sort it in ascending order.
- The list will now display the free players. Most of the top ones are those who do not have any skills.
- Purchase the player of your choice and return to the Home Screen.
When buying a player, pay attention to their position. If you want to train a striker (CF) with a specific skill, it’s best to buy a player who naturally plays forward. This makes it more likely they’ll learn a useful skill for that position. After that, assign them a skill token – ideally just one – to avoid them learning skills that don’t fit well together.
Step 2: Performing the Legacy Transfer
Now, let’s move on to the Legacy Transfer process. Because you won’t be transferring points, you’re free to select any fully developed player – just avoid using Trending players or Players of the Week – to pass on skills.
- Go to the My Team to access your players.
- Pick a player of your choice and click on Legacy Transfer. Remember, this player will be the one who is going to inherit the skill.
- If the selected player is levelled up, only the players who have additional skills will show up. Select the player for the transfer.
- After selecting, you go to the overview page of the player. Click Confirm to move to the next page.

- You can see his additional skills listed along with other details in this section. Do a final confirmation if this is the case.
- Click Transfer to finalize the Legacy Transfer procedure. The skill will be moved to the desired player, and the free player will disappear.
Okay, so one good thing about this system is you don’t waste skill tokens, but transferring them costs a lot of game points, which can be rough when you’re just starting out. Honestly, it really depends on how you approach the game. I’d say hold onto your tokens in your bag – you’ll probably get better at managing things as the game gets updated. Definitely focus on getting Epic and Big Time cards first, though – they’re seriously the best ones to aim for.
