Story Highlights
- Manager Proficiency affects how much of a boost your players get based on their attributes.
- Value of a high-proficiency manager becomes noticeable when you’re building squads with top players.
As a big eFootball fan, I’ve learned that if you really want to maximize your team in eFootball 2026, you *need* to understand manager proficiency. It’s a key stat that determines how much extra power you get out of your players’ existing skills – basically, it boosts their attributes!
I’ve covered everything you need to know about Managers in eFootball 2026 in my Manager Tactics guide. Check it out to learn how to use tactics effectively in the game.
Manager Team Playstyle Proficiency in eFootball 2026
Managers in the game have a skill rating, typically between 5 and 89. This rating boosts your player’s stats. The most effective managers usually fall within the 77 to 89 range.

Players receive bonuses of +1, +2, or +3, based on their attribute level. The specific ranges for each bonus are shown in the table below.
Proficiency | +1 Range | +2 Range | +3 Range |
---|---|---|---|
77 | 48-94 | 95-97 | NA |
78 | 44-87 | 88-97 | NA |
79 | 40-76 | 77-97 | NA |
80 | 40-76 | 77-97 | NA |
81 | 40-69 | 70-97 | NA |
82 | 40-69 | 70-97 | NA |
83 | 40-66 | 67-97 | NA |
84 | 40-61 | 62-92 | 93-96 |
85 | 40-61 | 62-92 | 93-96 |
86 | 40-58 | 58-89 | 90-96 |
87 | 40-58 | 59-87 | 88-96 |
88 | 40-56 | 57-84 | 85-96 |
89 | 40-55 | 56-83 | 84-96 |
Increasing a manager’s stats from 88 to 89 doesn’t automatically mean your player’s overall rating will increase by one point. It’s the individual stats themselves that matter most. For help with calculating these effects, see the next section.
How is Manager Proficiency calculated and applied in eFootball 2026
Imagine your manager has a skill level of 88. This affects your players by giving them bonuses based on their attributes. If a player’s attribute is between 40 and 56, they get a +1 boost. Between 57 and 84, they get a +2 boost. And if it’s between 85 and 96, they receive a +3 boost. The better your manager is, the sooner players start getting that +3 bonus.
For instance, if a manager has a proficiency of 89, the bonus of +3 actually begins at 84, not 85. This single point can be surprisingly important, particularly in tight games or when players are building characters around specific skill levels.

Let’s look at Cole Palmer as an example. His base rating is 70, which means how much his in-game rating improves depends heavily on your manager’s skill level. With a manager rated 87, Palmer reaches an overall rating of 100 in the game. But with an 88-rated manager, his overall rating goes up to 101.
Looking at the details, a couple of his key abilities have been slightly improved. His Low Pass rating increases from 88 to 89, and his Finishing goes up from 87 to 88. When considering his starting stats (70), these new ratings of 86 and 85 respectively, now fall into the 85-96 range, effectively giving him a +3 boost in those areas.
Is purchasing an 89-rated Manager in eFootball 2026 justified
A truly skilled manager makes a big difference when you’re assembling a team of top players. For example, a striker with 84 Finishing might improve to 87 with an 89-rated manager, but only to 86 with an 88-rated one. This shows how choosing the right manager can significantly impact your team’s stats and lets you fine-tune your strategy.
That seemingly small +1 boost can actually be important during a match. But if you’re a free player and don’t want to use coins to get better managers, it’s also important to be practical about what you can achieve.

In my opinion, increasing a skill from 88 to 89 isn’t a huge improvement unless you’re carefully maximizing every stat. The difference between 88 and 89 is smaller than the jump from 87 to 88. Therefore, a manager with a 90 rating should have a much wider range of effectiveness, perhaps between 80 and 96 – that’s definitely worth thinking about.
The 89-rated manager introduced with the new season includes a special feature called the Link-up system. It’s worth investing in players who have the Link-Up playstyle, because managers rated 88 don’t offer this benefit.
