However, he may not be the tallest on the field, and there could be instances where his jumping and catching abilities seem less impressive in aerial duels. Nonetheless, if you’re looking for a goalkeeper who plays swiftly and gets actively involved early, he fits many of the required criteria.

Diogo Costa

  • Position: GK
  • Playing Style: Offensive Goalkeeper

Costa stands out as the most contemporary among them all. While his individual stats may not be exceptionally high in a single aspect, it’s the overall combination that counts here. He offers decent passing ability, dependable goalkeeping, and even some added leadership through his Captaincy skill.

As a football enthusiast, I’d say he’s quite adept at distributing passes, whether they’re short or high, but the long ones, oh boy, they’re truly impressive – and that’s saying something for a goalkeeper! If you appreciate a team that constructs from the back with poise, Costa is definitely worth considering. However, to give him a more solid feel, you might want to work on enhancing his catching skills a bit.

Dominik Livaković

  • Position: GK
  • Playing Style: Defensive Goalkeeper

On the surface, he appears to be a traditional goalkeeper, one who maintains his position and bides his time to strike. His reach as a goalkeeper and his ability to deflect shots are impressive, leading me to believe that he can manage pressure effectively in tight quarters.

He’s not very agile and tends to stay put rather than rushing out quickly, primarily due to his playstyle. In a defensive setup where he parks the bus, I believe he performs exceptionally well. His statistics are reliable, and his impressive jump stats among the four make him stand out even more, placing him in a superior position.

Maarten Paes

  • Position: GK
  • Playing Style: Defensive Goalkeeper

Paes stands out as the tallest among them all, well-built, and presents a promising deal. His statistics are fairly even, making him one of those goalkeepers who seems to fill a large portion of the goal with his physique. Admittedly, the Penalty Saver skill assigned by KONAMI could be improved, but feel free to include it for now.

As an avid fan, I must admit that the one area where this character falls short is his reach number, sitting comfortably in the mid-80s. It’s a real letdown. His physical stats appear decent, but relying on that reach number can be challenging, and it seems to take a toll on other key stats, regardless of body type. His jumping ability is rather modest too, but given his height, I don’t think it will be a significant factor in the grand scheme of things.

Who should be your pick among the four GKs in Directing Defence Selection Contract

In summary, while I can say that the goalkeepers seem competent based on their stats, I must admit I’m reserving a firm judgement because they are free cards. Additionally, I haven’t had a chance to test the new Show Time skill yet, so it’s difficult for me to make a definitive assessment without using these cards in gameplay.

In summary, after testing various options, verifying data, and considering application suitability, I clearly favor Diogo Costa. I believe he offers a well-rounded performance that outweighs his apparent disadvantage in catching ability.
