eFootball 2025 Epic National Guardians (Beckenbauer, Buffon, Bronckhorst) pack review

Story Highlights

  • The new round of National Guardians Epic pack arrives in eFootball 2025.
  • The Epic versions of Beckenbauer, Buffon and van Bronckhorst has been featured in this 150-player pack,

A new bundle of the game “eFootball 2025” has been released, and it’s a return of the popular set, “Epic National Guardians,” but with updated rosters. There’s an excellent assortment of defensive players on offer, featuring three legendary figures from their respective positions: Franz Beckenbauer, Gianluigi Buffon, and G. van Bronckhorst.

Rarely encountered in games dominated by offensive players, this pack undoubtedly ranks among the finest. Upon closer inspection, here’s my take on the Epic National Guardians pack within eFootball.

National Guardians Epic pack in eFootball 2025

The arrangement persists with groups of 150 players, and within these groups, there are three Epics cards distributed. Among them, two possess the “Show Time” skillset, while the third one is a standard Epic card.

Franz Beckenbauer

  • Position: DMF
  • Playing Style: Orchestrator
  • Showtime Skill: Fortress

It seems I’ve been anticipating the Beckenbauer CB card for quite some time now, but Konami doesn’t appear to be in the mood to release it just yet. Regardless, this card is simply extraordinary, and he continues to play like a seasoned midfield commander with the strategic instincts of a center-back.

As a devoted admirer, I’d say this particular rendition boasts an outstanding blend of defensive prowess and superb ball movement. I find myself consistently impressed by his poise on the ball; his passing statistics hover around the mid-90s, while his ball control is nearly as impressive. His mastery lies in his passing skills, with only a few techniques like the Low Lofted Pass and No Look Pass yet to be showcased.

His defensive skills, particularly his awareness and tackling abilities, are exceptionally high for a Defensive Midfielder (DMF). This versatility allows you to consider him as a Central Back (CB) as well. He excels not only in controlling the game’s pace but also in thwarting opposing attacks before they get close to your defensive line.

Instead of focusing on transforming him into a Central Back (CB), which would boost his in-game rating to 107 but might not fully utilize his other attributes, it seems more fitting to leverage his strengths as a Central Midfielder/Defensive Midfielder (CMF/DMF). Given his exceptional performance in this position and ranking among the top three in his category, it would be wise to deploy him in a role that allows him to control the game’s flow.

Gianluigi Buffon

  • Position: GK
  • Playing Style: Defensive Goalkeeper
  • Showtime Skill: None

Despite being the goalkeeper with the poorest stats, he jumps up to 106 in auto-build. Interestingly, the recently introduced GK Directing Defense Show Time skill could have been assigned to this player, but for unknown reasons, Buffon still lacks a ST skill.

Indeed, he’s a formidable presence in goal. His core goalkeeping statistics are virtually maxed out and exceptionally high, which means you’ll often witness him making saves that others might find impossible. Except for catching ability, all his stats are rated at 95 or above.

As a die-hard fan, I’d say he doesn’t throw long passes like Neuer, but he excels in handling short buildups and low punts gracefully. His physical attributes, such as height and arm span, are quite impressive, so a team with higher reflexes could really benefit from his unique skills.

G. van Bronckhorst

  • Position: LB
  • Playing Style: Offensive Fullback
  • Showtime Skill: Fortress

You won’t want to miss this! The newcomer, Van Bronckhorst, is finally getting the recognition he deserves. If you’re a fan of interchanging wingbacks, this card is a must-have. He’s equipped with the Long Reach Tackle and Show Time skill, making him perfect for those who are always on the attack, chasing after wingers.

What struck me, nonetheless, is his extraordinary endurance; his stamina is astonishing, as evident in his relentless play. He exhibits the skills of a versatile and dedicated player, much like a two-way fullback. He boasts high-speed agility in the 90s range, has impressive acceleration, and feels remarkably nimble with the ball.

His ball control isn’t top-notch, but it suffices for connecting passes and moving the ball along the wings. As an offensive defender, improving his passing in the autobuild setting is a mistake, so I opted to enhance the speed and boost the passing statistics instead.

Offensively speaking, he stands strong just as robustly. His tackling abilities are impressive, and with his exceptional agility, he can make tackles even when slightly unbalanced and still regain his footing. I would suggest Determination or Sliding Tackle as his skills, making him an overall reliable card.

Best Epic card from the National Guardians pack in eFootball 2025

In this trio, every player holds their ground, but Beckenbauer clearly shines as the most adaptable and superior pick among them. The remaining two are equally impressive, sitting comfortably in the elite category. To summarize, I’d say it’s a well-balanced Epic release, with each card providing lasting value based on what your team requires.
