eFootball 2025 Epic European League Guardians (Toure, Schmeichel, Dixon) pack review

Story Highlights

  • eFootball 2025 has released the Epic European League Guardians pack.
  • The pack features Toure, Dixon and Schmeichel, with the first two cards having Show Time skills.

2025’s edition of eFootball carries on honoring the greats of soccer by releasing another powerful Epic pack, named the European League Guardians. This pack highlights defensive giants and includes players like Yaya Toure, Peter Schmeichel, and Lee Dixon. Together, they form a robust team lineup.

Previously, we’ve encountered Dixon and Schmeichel card editions, but Toure is a fresh face in the mix, and he was renowned for his versatile skills with Manchester City. However, it’s not advisable to invest in this pack solely based on Toure. But which among these three gems truly shines brightest in eFootball 2025? Let’s delve into each one.

Epic cards from the eFootball 2025 European League Guardians pack

In the given set, we find approximately 150 characters, and among these, there are three exceptional cards labeled as Epics. Interestingly, two out of those three possess the skill ‘Show Time’, whereas the third one serves as a standard Epic card.

Yaya Toure

  • Position: DMF
  • Playing Style: Orchestrator
  • Showtime Skill: Visionary Pass

Leading the pack is none other than Yaya Toure, and statistically speaking, a significant midfield enhancement for any team. As a Maestro, he enjoys staying deep, gathering the ball, and controlling the tempo, which I initially disliked when this card was introduced because he leans more towards B2B style. However, I believe we’ll see this card at Central Midfielder position soon.

His physical prowess and endurance kept him engaged throughout the match, and statistically, he seems competent at guarding the defense. What’s intriguing is how skillfully he blends defense and offense – with slight adjustments to his auto build, he could become a player who initiates attacks and maintains the rhythm.

His performance is consistently effective for supplying forwards, making him an excellent fit for teams that prefer possession-based and patient play. Physically, he’s hard to outmaneuver and has reasonable speed, advantageous against quicker opponents. He stands above average in height, allowing for a potential center back role modification, boosting his overall rating to 105.

Lee Dixon

  • Position: RB
  • Playing Style: Defensive Fullback
  • Showtime Skill: Fortress

Dixon is a seasoned right back known for his defensive prowess rather than attacking flair. Unlike some players who often venture forward to score goals, Dixon excels at maintaining a solid defense on his side of the pitch, effectively thwarting attackers. His strategic positioning and impeccable timing for tackles make it rare for him to be out of position or caught off guard.

I appreciate the speed of this card, but the stats are quite extreme. For a defensive fullback, there’s definitely room for adjustment since they aren’t typically aggressive in forward movements. Instead of Fortress, I wish it had an ability like Edged Crossing; it would have been beneficial if he was trained as a Right Midfielder.

Continuing with my common practice of employing unconventional player positions, I experimented with a Central Defender (CB) build for Dixon, and he proved to be a strong and reliable choice in that role. He excels at defense and boasts impressive speed, but his relatively short stature might not make him the ideal fit.

Peter Schmeichel

  • Position: GK
  • Playing Style: Defensive Goalkeeper
  • Showtime Skill: None

Since I acquired this soccer card last year, this goalkeeper has consistently been my first choice. He’s an exceptional shot-stopper, although this specific edition shows a slight improvement in statistics, it’s not necessarily an upgrade. He excels at the fundamentals such as positioning and quick reflex saves.

When shots are taken from close range or set pieces, Schmeichel is the goalkeeper you’d prefer to have guarding the net. His playing style suggests that he doesn’t charge out frequently, but there’s barely any chance of error if you aim to lift this player up and push the ball away.

This playing card could rank among the finest goalkeepers currently available. I consider its previous version to be among the top three, and this updated one might even claim the number one spot. If you’re searching for a goalkeeper, this selection fits perfectly.

Best pick from the eFootball 2025 European League Guardians pack

With little delay, you could confidently join forces with Schmeichel, who stands among the top and reliable goalkeepers in the game. While I admire Toure, his card doesn’t seem to be an ultimate choice at this moment. Instead, I believe it would be wiser to hold out for a Box-to-Box variant.
