The relentless attacks from forwards have been a concern, but now we’re seeing more defensive reinforcements joining the game!

Franz Beckenbauer

Beckenbauer being labeled as an “Orchestrator” DMF (Defensive Midfielder) wasn’t something I had anticipated; instead, I was expecting a Center Back card. However, since KONAMI might have thought they were giving one of his cards away for free, players might not be eager to pursue another.

The statistics across this card are exceptionally diverse and top-tier, with no number falling below average. It’s a well-rounded set of figures, making it fair to call it a perfect all-around player. With impressive passing abilities and robust defensive stats, it aligns perfectly with the current eFootball gameplay dynamics.

As a fellow gamer, I’m guessing we both share the desire to craft the perfect build for the CB role. However, it struck me that using his playmaking abilities in the Orchestrator role might not be making the most of his potential. Instead, I believe he would shine brighter if we focused on enhancing his defensive skills to excel as a CB. With these improvements, he could easily compete with the best defenders out there.

How might you construct him? Consider creating a player with a blend of characteristics that leans towards a Creative-Midfielder/Defensive-Midfielder role. Make him a versatile midfielder, capable of driving the offense while also providing solid defensive coverage in the heart of the field.

Petr Cech

  • Position: GK
  • Playing Style: Defensive Goalkeeper
  • Showtime Skill: Fortress

For numerous fans, there’s no mistake in choosing Petr Cech’s player ID. Since he was my initial draw, I’ve tried him out in both online and AI matches, and let me tell you, he’s as solid as a fortress. I opted against the auto-build route, instead focusing on boosting his Reflexes and Reach stats to impressive 90s levels.

These figures demonstrate that he effortlessly executes challenging saves and retains the ball more often than others. However, there’s a sense of lethargy when he moves off his line, so he may not be your first choice for bold sweeping actions, particularly in high positions. Conversely, when it comes to dealing with threats inside the box, crosses, and direct shots, he stands firm like a rock.

Klaus Augenthaler

  • Position: CB
  • Playing Style: Build Up

The primary factor that led me to choose this particular pack was a specific player. I was seeking a defender who excels in ball play without sacrificing other stats. In the game, Augenthaler‘s tackling and interaction stand out as exceptional. I appreciate the composure of this card; it skillfully recovers the ball and initiates counter-attacks smoothly.

Despite his Physical Contact rating being under 90, he seldom gets dispossessed and exhibits excellent man-marking skills among central defenders in the build-up phase. His speed could be boosted to approximately 80 with suitable customization.

By all means, it’s important to equip him with the “Heading” skill. For additional reinforcement, I would recommend pairing him with a tall Center Back. He seems ideal for central defense roles, particularly in a three-defender setup, where his ability as a “ball-playing defender” will be most beneficial.
