eFootball 2025 China version gets the Player Exchange feature

Story Highlights

  • KONAMI has rolled out the Player Exchange system in the China server for more flashy epics.
  • Unlike a direct swap, the exchange system has a progress bar that suggests to meet certain criterias.
  • Currently, there is no indication that this system will arrive for global players

In the China server of eFootball 2025, published by KONAMI, they’ve introduced a new feature called Player Swap. This allows users to trade their current players for potentially superior ones, a long-awaited addition that has been hinted at for some time. And it seems that the China server is getting an early taste of what global players have been eagerly anticipating.

The progress bar suggests a structured exchange method rather than a straightforward trade

According to the leaked information, it appears this isn’t the expected direct route. The pack showcased contains 190 players, with high-profile picks such as Gullit and Cole included. However, the screenshots also seem to indicate a progress bar is involved.

In eFootball 2025’s Chinese version, the Player Exchange feature introduces a card trading system for footballers. You may encounter numbers like x10 and x15, which represent the number of attempts you get. Since your team could potentially include high-rated players (3-Star+) as you advance, it seems that this trading system might require you to build your squad within the platform itself.

If I were to provide an illustration, you’d likely assemble a group consisting of 11 cards, perhaps. By doing so, you’d earn points from the available pack. Given that it exhibits an Epic symbol, I wouldn’t be shocked if the condition for all members is at least an Epic card.

On the following screen, there’s also a confirm button, indicating that both parties must approve before completing the trade. Keep in mind, my interpretation could be off, but that seems to be the case. Nevertheless, this remains a gamble. You can’t definitely secure a specific player without putting your best cards at risk.

eFootball 2025 has already been teased several times about getting an exchange feature

It’s worth noting that this idea isn’t entirely novel; rumors emerged as early as 2024 about a comparable Player Exchange feature being trialed for the worldwide edition of eFootball 2024. Following the start of the 2025 season, additional leaks surfaced, accompanied by concept art and mockups. Despite these indications, the feature didn’t appear in the global version ultimately.

To be honest, it seems like we’re in a holding pattern until the global release brings something similar, but let’s hope it’s not as stringent. Frankly, I have my doubts if this feature will make it to the global version. Just a heads up, let’s keep our expectations realistic in case it doesn’t materialize. For now, the Player Exchange feature is an exclusive privilege for eFootball 2025 players in China only.
