Eddie Redmayne looks stylish in a graphic print shirt and black polo-neck as he joins sizzling co-star Ursula Corbero at The Day Of The Jackal press tour in Madrid

As a seasoned viewer of countless hours of television and films, I must say that the upcoming adaptation of “The Day of the Jackal” has piqued my interest in a significant way. The star-studded cast, led by the talented Eddie Redmayne, promises to deliver an engaging and captivating narrative.

He is considered one of the most charming actors in Hollywood.

On Thursday, Eddie Redmayne exuded charisma fitting for a lead actor, accompanying his co-star Ursula Corbero during The Day Of The Jackal promotional events in Madrid.

The 42-year-old actor exuded an effortless sense of style by wearing a fashionable graphic shirt in black and cream, paired elegantly over a traditional black turtleneck.

He matched the group with a pair of wide-legged black pants, and elevated the style with sleek black Louboutin loafers.

Simultaneously, Ursula, aged 35, drew attention with her stylish blue and white vertical-striped blouse that had a collar resembling a shirt.

She matched the top with a mini burgundy leather skirt and sheer black stockings, which highlighted her sleek legs.

In a chic, minimalist approach, I adorned myself with a sleek pair of black block heels that accentuated my figure and elevated my style, while keeping my accessorizing simple and understated.

The duo looked incredible as they posed up a storm for the press snaps.

In a fresh dramatic series, Eddie portrays a slippery assassin whose profession involves executing contracts for top dollar; Money Heist actress Úrsula takes on the role of his enigmatic Spanish spouse.

As a devoted partner, I live a lavish lifestyle alongside my child, blissfully unaware of my spouse’s real line of work. That all changed when whispers of an alleged affair stirred within me a need to dig deeper and unmask the truth about his clandestine profession.

In the photos from the series, it’s evident that they both have a deep affection for each other, as demonstrated by Nuria often embracing her partner by intertwining her legs around him.

In a different segment of the series, Jackal gently touches his wife’s face as she looks back at him with tender affection, reminiscing on their happier moments together.

The reboot has some elements rooted in a tale that shares similarities with Frederick Forsyth’s 1971 novel, but it is not an exact retelling.

The source material for the ten-episode series offers insights into the political climate during its composition.

In the narrative, Eddie portrays the character of The Jackal, a skilled, hired gun who accepts assignments from a clandestine military organization known as the “Secret Army Organization” (OAS), which was an authentic entity in reality.

In the original story, a faction within the parliament intended to carry out an assassination on the then-President of France, Charles de Gaulle. This plot was actually historical fact and occurred as detailed in the book.

The aim of the group was to prevent Algeria from gaining independence from French control, an action that the President had been considering for a referendum in 1961.

In the book, while the first attempts to kill the character are grounded in reality, the subsequent events described thereafter are purely works of fiction.

The production of this series is handled by Carnival Films, while Sky Studios has given the green light for its creation. Afterward, Sky Studios plans to broadcast the eagerly awaited series throughout the United Kingdom and a significant portion of Europe. Additionally, the series will be available on US streaming platform Peacock.

According to The Mirror, Eddie’s massive salary was a record-breaking amount for a star, but it seems that such high paychecks have become standard practice when large corporations like Netflix, Apple, and in this instance, Peacock, are involved.

According to reports, many television networks and broadcasting stations are finding it challenging due to tightening budgets, except when it comes to producing premium drama series aimed at international audiences—a domain where the streaming platforms seem to be thriving.

‘If you can do a deal with one of them, you can absolutely break the bank.’

The small-screen adaptation was done by Ronan Bennett, who created and wrote the critically praised English crime series Top Boy; it features Chukwudi Iwuji from Guardians of the Galaxy and Charles Dance from Game of Thrones among its stars.

The Day Of The Jackal was directed by Brian Kirk whose credits include Game Of Thrones and Luther.

The series is manufactured by Carnival Films, a segment of Universal International Studios, which falls under the umbrella of Universal Studio Group.

As a devoted team member, I take on the role of executive producer, collaborating closely with Lashana Lynch in her capacity as co-executive producer. We also benefit from the expertise of Frederick, who serves as our consulting producer, ensuring that we maintain a high level of quality and authenticity in our production.

As a devoted collaborator alongside Gareth Neame and Nigel Marchant, two esteemed executive producers of the Downton Abbey series, I had the privilege of discussing our joint project with GQ magazine.

Gareth mentioned that he and someone else shared a fondness for the same book. They also watched the movie as children, and since then, Gareth has revisited the film multiple times throughout his life, maintaining a deep respect for it.

Initially hesitant about handling source material with high regard, they found the prospect of spreading the narrative over multiple episodes in a television series irresistible and couldn’t resist taking up the challenge.

We believe updating a timeless, captivating tale for modern times, using the advantages of a serial television format, would make for an intriguing exploration of this well-regarded intellectual property. That’s why we plan to reimagine it in this manner.

Nigel concurred: “It seems to me that such a title is deeply ingrained in many minds… And indeed, why not expand the scope when narrating it?

In response to the query on why the show was set in the 2020s instead of the ’60s like the original book and movie, Gareth explained: “Why revisit the past if we can’t surpass the film?
