Eddie Murphy’s ‘The Pickup’ is Coming to Prime Video – Don’t Miss the Action!
Three well-known figures in the acting and comedy world – Keke Palmer, Pete Davidson, and Eddie Murphy – share more than just a love for humor and entertainment. They are collaborating on an exciting project titled “The Pickup“, penned by Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider. Directed by Tim Story, known for movies like “The Blackening“, “Barbershop” and “Ride Along“, this film will see Eddie Murphy and Pete Davidson team up with Keke Palmer, who portrays a cunning criminal mastermind. Amazon MGM Studios has unveiled stills from the action-comedy movie and revealed its streaming release date to eager fans.
Following the startling incident during a stunt on the set of the upcoming comedy series, “The Pickup”, it found itself in a precarious situation. However, with the aftermath of the accident now behind us, Amazon is all set to launch a full-fledged promotional campaign. A series of exclusive sneak peeks for “The Pickup” reveal that Zoe, played by Palmer, is not to be underestimated. This show revolves around an ordinary cash pickup job that takes a turn for the unexpected when the two armored truck drivers, Russell (portrayed by Murphy) and Travis (Davidson), are ambushed by a group of rough criminals led by Zoe, who has a cunning plot in mind for the three main characters, which goes far beyond just the cash cargo. There’s a hint of Catwoman-like scheming in her character.
The Killer Cast Is Building Hype for ‘The Pickup’
As a longtime Saturday Night Live cast member who’s had the unique privilege of hosting the show while still being on the team, I can confidently say that I’ve enjoyed my fair share of comedic journeys throughout the years. The latest addition to this list, “The Pickup,” appears no different, featuring fellow SNL alum Pete Davidson alongside me. Joining us in this hilarious endeavor are Eva Longoria, Marshawn Lynch, Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i, Andrew Dice Clay, and Ismael Cruz Córdova.
In recent news, Eddie Murphy, who last graced the screen as Axel Foley in 2024’s “Beverly Hills Cop,” has a plethora of exciting roles lined up. Not only is he reprising his iconic role as Donkey for “Shrek 5,” but he’s also stepping into the shoes of a retired superspy, reminiscent of James Bond, in the upcoming “Blue Falcon.” Meanwhile, Arsenio Hall, also known as my beloved character Jake from “Coming to America,” is working on another crime movie titled “How to Rob a Bank.” And let’s not forget about the multitalented Keke Palmer, who has been busy with projects like “Good Fortune” starring Keanu Reeves, Aziz Ansari, and Seth Rogen. I can hardly wait!
It’s delightful to witness a comedy great such as Murphy collaborating with emerging comedic talents. The star of “The Nutty Professor” stands out among his peers who have succumbed to the notion that comedy has died, but instead, he appears to flourish due to this mindset.
