Eddie Murphy’s son ‘secretly’ marries Martin Lawrence’s daughter… after 6 month engagement

Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence are now in-laws.

Eric Murphy, aged 35, and Jasmin, Lawrence’s daughter who is 29 years old, recently tied the knot in secrecy following four years of courtship.

Eddie mentioned during Thursday’s episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show that they had tied the knot approximately two weeks prior.

And it sounds like it was a quickie nuptial as there was no big party.

The comedian remarked, ‘Instead of a grand wedding ceremony, they opted for a private one at the church, with only the bride, groom, and the preacher present. They had a small, intimate event. I assume they might throw a large celebration later on.’

This change will significantly reduce the expenses for both Eddie and Martin. Now, it seems like Martin won’t have to bear the costs of a grand wedding anymore, as Eddie humorously pointed out.

Eric and Jasmin got engaged in late November 2024. 

The love birds shared a video of the proposal to both of their Instagram accounts late last year.

In the video, Eric guided Jasmine into a chamber adorned with drifts of white rose petals and clusters of both pink and white roses.

The room was adorned with candles, boasting a big, vibrant red heart on its walls. Eric knelt down and asked for Jasmin’s hand in marriage, to which she happily agreed.

Last year Eddie opened up about how he feels about his son dating Martin’s daughter. 

In the summer of 2021, the pair began their romantic journey together, with Jasmin announcing their relationship on an Instagram post dedicated to Eric’s birthday.

It isn’t clear how they became acquainted, but it seems likely that they have been friends for quite some time.

Their fathers have been friends for years and worked together on the movies Boomerang and Life.

‘They’re both beautiful, they look amazing together,’ the Coming To America star said last year.

Murphy and Lawrence are even talking about their potential grandchildren.

He continued, ‘Our gene pool is gonna make this funny baby.’ 

Eddie emphasized his thought by saying, ‘Should they tie the knot and have a kid someday, I’m hoping that little one will grow up to be quite humorous.’

Jasmin is the oldest child born to Martin and his former spouse, Patricia Southall. She made a brief appearance in her father’s film, “Bad Boys For Life.
