Jasmin Lawrence and Eric Murphy are preparing to get married, which will make Martin Lawrence (Jasmin’s father) and Eddie Murphy (Eric’s father) family by marriage.

64-year-old “Saturday Night Live” veteran Murphy revealed during an interview on “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” airing Thursday, that he and his son Eric, as well as Lawrence (his partner) and Jasmin (Lawrence’s daughter), had a surprise, low-key wedding after they got engaged last fall. The families had initially planned for a grand wedding, but the couple decided to get married without much fanfare instead.

He confirmed they were family by marriage, adding that since Joe Lawrence, known for his role in “Bad Boys,” is a part of their family now, there’s no need for him to cover the costs of a grand wedding.

Murphy shared that the couple tied the knot approximately two weeks back. Originally, everyone was preparing for a grand wedding, but they opted for a more intimate ceremony instead, just the two of them.

Instead of having a traditional wedding, they chose to get married quietly at the church, with only the bride, groom, and the preacher present.

35-year-old Eric Murphy popped the question to Jasmin Lawrence, 29, last November at an intimate gathering boasting top-notch production quality.
