Ed Sheeran’s Dad Steals the Show Dancing in Adorable Cameo in New Music Video
In a heartwarming scene, pop sensation Ed Sheeran featured his dad, John, in one of his latest music video releases.
The singer, 34, released his new song Azizam, Persian for ‘My beloved’, just two weeks ago.
In the lively video, it was John, his enthusiastic father for art at 68 years old, who made an appearance as a wedding guest.
John, frequently spotted with Ed, enthusiastically took on the part of a dance-loving attendee, accompanied by his musically talented son.
Fans of Ed were unexpectedly given a concert in the very region where he hails from, Suffolk, during the recent extended weekend break.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’m thrilled to share that the music maestro has dropped his latest track titled “Old Phone.” In an exciting turn of events, the town center of Ipswich now bears the name “The Thomas Wolsey,” in harmony with the catchy tune.

For the past two weeks, the pub has been operating under a new name, but it will return to its original name afterwards.
Ed, recognized for his spontaneous performances, posted footage from the event on his Instagram and wrote in the caption: ‘Used an old phone for a hometown gig in Ipswich today.’
Appreciation to @fishclawband for joining forces with me, and a big thank you to all who attended. Cheers from my old phone until the next time x.
The process of renaming the pub associated with the title of the latest song by the singer commenced at the crack of dawn on a Sunday.
On Friday, he revealed that there will be three performances taking place in Ipswich, England. Sharing the news on social media, he said, “Traveling from Ipswich, Massachusetts to Ipswich, United Kingdom… We’re bringing ‘The Old Phone Pub’ home this weekend.
People were asked to respond to the message with a beer emoji for a chance to get invited.
Previously, he conducted a single-night performance of The Old Phone in Ipswich, Massachusetts (USA), and more recently, another show at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California during the past month.
Last week, Ed posted a collection of nostalgic photos on Instagram, among them a lively selfie with Taylor Swift. Additionally, he took time to ponder over the recent copyright trial.

The star launched a new Instagram account to celebrate his ’emotional’ new single Old Phone.
The article showcased numerous unprecedented images, text excerpts, and lyrical annotations, and was published before the launch of his upcoming single on Thursday, April 29th.
The piece displayed many unseen photographs, writings, and song lyrics, along with a sneak peek at his forthcoming single which was due to be released on Thursday, April 29th.
Ed found inspiration to compose a fresh tune while going through his old phone, during the legal dispute over the rights of his popular track “Thinking Out Loud.
At that point in time, Ed asserted he did not copy Marvin Gaye’s famous soul track “Let’s Get it On” for his hit song released in 2014. Later on, in 2023, the court found him not guilty.
In his latest Instagram update, Ed shared an insightful piece: ‘Turn on the sound and give it a listen. Since 2015, I’ve abandoned my smartphone and embraced emails entirely. As of December ’15, I powered off my phone and haven’t looked back since.’
As a lifestyle expert, let me share a personal experience: When I found myself embroiled in legal proceedings, the court mandated that I hand over my older devices to the opposing counsel for thorough examination. They were searching for any potential evidence within messages, emails, voice notes, videos, and so forth, to bolster their argument. In the midst of this process, I reactivated my old phone.
Here are the messages I received:
1. The initial message was from my long-lost friend Jamal Edwards, who sadly passed away not too long ago.
2. The second message came from an ex-girlfriend with whom I’ve had no contact for several years.
3. The third one was from a family member I haven’t spoken to in over a decade. And so on…
Ed posted photos to his friends, which included Taylor and the deceased Jamal Edwards. Looking through these images brought on a wave of emotions for the musician.

Ed went on to say: “It seemed like a time capsule, capturing the era of my life back in 2015. As soon as I switched it on, I was taken aback, finding myself reading old messages and chats with folks who are now gone.
As a deeply affected admirer, I stumbled upon old messages to friends who have sadly passed away, and I can no longer engage in the heartfelt conversations we once shared. The sight of these poignant exchanges stirred up a torrent of emotions within me, leaving me with tears streaming down my face.
Similarly, I unearthed old photographs capturing precious moments spent with individuals who were once incredibly close to me. Regrettably, our paths have diverged over time, and the memories evoked by these images serve as a bitter-sweet reminder of our lost connection.
Experiencing it was quite an emotional rollercoaster. At 2 in the morning, while still feeling the effects of jet lag in India, I penned the song ‘Old Phone’ by myself. That same morning, I also recorded it. It has a sense of familiarity, as if it belonged on my first album, yet it’s a composition that I couldn’t have created until I went through some genuine life events myself.
I can’t help but feel a deep emotional connection when I perform this powerful new tune, and I truly hope it stirs some emotions within you as well. It might even prompt you to dust off your old phone and reminisce about where you were a full decade ago. Whatever impact it has on you, I’m just grateful I was able to write it. Catch it on ‘Old Phone,’ dropping this Thursday at 11am EDT / 4pm BST.
It came after Ed surprised Londoners with a lunchtime performance outside of King’s Cross station.
The performer donned a bright pink tee while preparing on stage, where a big pink heart bearing the title ‘Azizam’ (his latest single) in white was displayed behind him.
Audience members couldn’t help but cheer with joy as Edward serenaded them with his acoustic guitar, performing popular tunes such as Shape of You, Perfect, and Bad Habits.
