Ed Sheeran Stuns Commuters with Surprise Gig at King’s Cross Station!
On a Friday afternoon, Ed Sheeran unexpectedly performed live at King’s Cross station for the delight of Londoners.
34-year-old musician donned a lively fuchsia t-shirt and prepared on stage, with a grand pink heart serving as the backdrop, emblazoned with the title of his latest hit single, ‘Azizam’.
Enthusiasts rejoiced as Ed strummed his acoustic guitar and sang popular tunes such as Shape of You, Perfect, and Bad Habits.
After a morning filled with promotional activities for the singer, he ventured throughout the capital city on a double-deck, hot-pink bus to mark the approaching release of his eighth studio album.
On more than one occasion, Ed has taken passengers by surprise with an unexpected performance at a train station.
In November, Ed left onlookers astonished when he emerged from a big Sky Broadband setup at the train station.

Currently, Craig David, aged 43, has been making travelers happy by playing five of his popular songs alongside an unassuming spectator at a train station’s public piano.
With a throng of enthusiastic commuters gathering, Craig began an impromptu showcase by playing his 2000 hit “7 Days”, followed by his 2003 tune “Rise & Fall”.
In December the previous year, Alicia Keys added a touch of joy to the daily commute by playing music on one of the public pianos at St Pancras station.
With a throng of eager commuters looking on, Alicia showcased popular tunes like Empire State of Mind, If I Ain’t Got You, No One, and her latest single Lifeline – debut track from the movie The Color Purple.
After it was disclosed that Ed found himself in a rather uncomfortable discussion with Elton John regarding his frequent mispronunciation of his name, despite their friendship spanning over a decade.
On the same day, Ed had a chat with Jordan North, Chris Stark, and Sian Welby from Capital Breakfast about his freshly-released single “Azizam” and his forthcoming eighth studio album.
In the course of the interview, the hosts asked for Ed’s perspective on Elton often mispronouncing his name, and they played a clip showing Elton making the mistake.
Initiating our chat, Chris posed a question: “I must inquire about something, don’t you think? It just so happens that we visited Elton John’s residence this week… There seems to be a dispute we should resolve. Here, have a listen to this.

Later on, he played a snippet from a Capital interview with Elton John, during which he mentioned: ‘What I’m thinking about is Ed Sheeran performing in people’s living rooms.’ (or simply, ‘Elton spoke about Ed Sheeran playing in living rooms.’)
I gleefully confessed that I once had a rather peculiar chat with the musical maestro, aiming to settle the correct way to say his name.
He stated, “For fifteen years, we’ve been acquainted, and I’ve had to clarify that he isn’t Ed Sheeran. It’s one of those situations, but yes, I have indeed discussed this with him.
Chris said, “Isn’t he hard to argue with?” To this, Ed replied, “I can certainly try, and sometimes I do, but honestly, it’s not always pleasant…
Jordan continued by saying, ‘It’s similar to when your grandmother makes a mistake in what she says, and you understand that she meant something else, so you simply let it pass, don’t you?’
In a nod of acknowledgement, Ed Sheeran acknowledged that Elton John will forever refer to him as ‘Ed’, but added, “Just like my parents don’t call me Ed, they call me Edward. Similarly, I’ll always be ‘Ed Sheer-an’ to Elton.
In another part of the conversation, Ed disclosed the name of his upcoming single and mentioned his intention to launch a fresh track each month, with this continuing until his album is finally released.

Discussing Azizam and the anticipated album, Ed mentioned that fans can look forward to more of the same, but with a touch of playfulness. The upcoming single, he added, leans more towards his traditional style.
He went on to say, “I’d describe it as a mix of melancholic and uplifting tones, similar to an acoustic track. The song is called ‘Old Phone’, and it will be released in about a month from now. I plan to release a new song almost every month until the album drops.
This year, the acclaimed album maker is set to unveil his eighth studio work, titled “Play”. On April 4th, he gave fans a sneak peek with the release of the lead single, “Azizam”.
Though an exact launch date for Play hasn’t been disclosed as of now, Ed has made it clear that the album is set to drop at some point during the year 2025.
