British icon Ed Sheeran has revealed that there are ‘professional singers that mime’.
In a fresh YouTube upload alongside the Beta Squad, it fell upon Ed to employ his musical expertise to identify which among six individuals was a skilled vocalist.
In the video, the performer behind “Shape of You” shares insights on different parts of the music business, occasionally offering hints that are critical of certain colleagues in a discreet manner.
In the video at some point, one of the prospective singers proposes lip-syncing when her vocal abilities require rest.
Sheeran, 34, said: ‘I don’t know if a professional singer would admit to miming.’
A member of the Beta Squad asked him: ‘I thought a lot of professional artists do that though?’

‘They deny it, but I can’t hide it since I’m the one playing the loop pedal and the guitar.’
I’m committed to never missing a performance due to my vocal health. I’d always strive to perform, even if my voice is slightly hoarse.
‘Because there are professional singers that mime, but they would never admit to it.’
2017 saw Ed Sheeran respond to criticism when some concert-goers claimed he used pre-recorded tracks during his headlining performance at Glastonbury.
In his performance, he clarified (back then on X, which is now known as Twitter), “I never thought I’d need to make this clear, but everything you see in my live shows is actually happening live. It’s a loop station, not a pre-recorded track. For your understanding, feel free to look up ‘x’.
Instead of allowing the criticism to overshadow his special moment on the Pyramid Stage, Ed expressed in another tweet: ‘Regardless, fantastic evening, wonderful ambiance, family, friends, enjoyable. I adore you all.’
This past week, Ed shared a sneak peek of his latest tunes by releasing a video featuring Rupert Grint reprising his role as Ed Sheeran’s stalker in an upcoming hilariously outrageous music video.
In 2011, the 36-year-old actor featured in Ed Sheeran’s music video for “Lego House,” a song that climbed to the fifth spot on the UK Singles Chart.

In the video, it appeared that Rupert’s on-screen persona got arrested for breaking into a singer’s tour bus and trying to pose as the singer during the performance.
It appears that he’s returned yet again, as Ed posted a sneak peek of his upcoming single titled ‘A Little More’ on Instagram on Monday.
In the preview, we see Rupert returning to his character and seemingly leaving prison, while memories from the 2011 video flicker back in our minds.
Ed wrote alongside the post: ’14 years later me and @rupertgrint are reunited.
After composing the song, I came up with an outlandish concept, which fortunately, Rupert agreed to. The resulting video is quite eccentric, fitting perfectly for a cheerful and enraged song.
I believe this track from ‘Play’ will likely become many people’s favorite. It releases on Thursday, so keep an eye out for more updates!
According to Sheeran, the song ‘A Little More’ is included in his forthcoming album titled ‘Play’. This album is scheduled for release in September.
His new music has also been celebrated by the singer buying a new £9million home in New York.
Having an astonishing property collection valued at approximately £70million, as reported by The Mail, it’s been disclosed that he has recently acquired his cherished property nestled in the core of Brooklyn, sharing a boundary with his friend Kendrick Lamar.
Ed, with an estimated net worth of approximately £300 million, along with his spouse Cherry Seaborn, established a firm for managing the acquisition of their New York City residence.
The pair, joined in matrimony since 2019, are parents to Lyra, age four, and Jupiter, two, having both grown up in the same town in Suffolk.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase it like this: Establishing their company has provided Ed and Cherry with beneficial tax breaks when they decide to sell their stunning waterfront property.
Previously, they were leasing another apartment within the same complex at an expensive monthly rate of £25,000. However, they eventually chose to purchase their new home instead.
The Grammy-winning star purchased the roughly 3,400-square-foot place in an off-market deal.
This substantial establishment boasts lavish facilities such as two fitness centers, an electric vehicle charging garage, and lobbies that are staffed around the clock.
Ed currently holds ownership of no fewer than 27 properties within London, among them being a substantial £20 million residence in Notting Hill, as well as homes in highly desirable neighborhoods such as Holland Park and Covent Garden.
The celebrity’s financial holdings are kept within private firms, excluding his substantial property in Suffolk, which serves as his residence along with his spouse Cherry and their two children.
Apart from his UK businesses, the A Team singer additionally owns a substantial villa in Italy, complete with vineyards on the property.
