Fans are upset after Echo and the Bunnymen cancelled their Manchester concert right before they were scheduled to take the stage.
The British band is currently touring the UK with their ‘More Songs To Learn and Sing’ show, and they were scheduled to play a sold-out concert at Albert Hall on Wednesday.
Despite a dedicated fanbase waiting outside, the group had to cancel their performance, citing illness in a Facebook post.
The Echo and the Bunnymen have had to postpone their show tonight because some members of the band are unwell.
Please keep your tickets and watch for updates. We sincerely apologize for any trouble this may cause.
But fans were left in a frenzy as they told the band that they should have notified them sooner.
One penned: ‘So sorry, we were only informed at the last minute too. We can only apologise.’
I met a woman who had come all the way from Antwerp. We also did some traveling ourselves and had to pay for a hotel.
‘Last minute cancellation is a huge disappointment’.
The comments section on the post has been taken down, and the band is no longer allowing comments on their recent social media updates.
The band formed in 1978, with just original members Ian McCulloch and Will Sergeant remaining.
Echo and The Bunnymen are still set to perform in Bristol this Friday night, despite recent concerns, and the show is sold out.
We’re so grateful for everyone’s understanding and support after we had to cancel our recent show in Manchester because some band members were sick. We shared this message on Instagram.
We’re excited to be performing in Bristol tomorrow night and can’t wait to get back on stage and play for our fans!
We absolutely love playing for the amazing crowd in Bristol, and we’re so excited to see you all again. Your continued support means the world to us.
The Daily Mail has contacted the band’s representatives for a comment.
