The first trailer for Ti West’s new take on A Christmas Carol, titled Ebenezer, is out now, and viewers have noticed one thing in particular. West, known for directing the X trilogy of horror films, is bringing his style to this classic Charles Dickens story, which will be released on November 13th.
We got our first look at the actors playing their roles, with Johnny Depp as Ebenezer Scrooge, Rupert Grint as Bob Cratchit, and Sir Ian McKellen as Jacob Marley.
Fans are especially intrigued by the movie’s tagline, “the name you know, the story you don’t,” which highlights that the film will delve into the previously untold history of Ebenezer Scrooge.
Okay, so here’s the thing – everyone’s probably seen A Christmas Carol a bunch of times. Seriously, there are over 350 different versions out there! Most viewers already know the story, so it’s not exactly going in blind.
