Easy A cast: Where are they now? A look at stars of the hit teen comedy 14 years after the movie was released
As I delve into the lives of these extraordinary individuals who brought the quirky town of Westport to life through their performances, I am struck by the sheer diversity and richness of their experiences.
Easy A was an instant success when it hit the cinemas in 2010, grossing over $75 million worldwide.
As an over-the-moon admirer, let me tell you about the hilarious teen flick I’ve been gushing over! Titled “Easy A,” this masterpiece, skillfully directed by Will Gluck, chronicles the life of Olive Pendergast, a high school whiz kid who, in a bid to boost her social status, spins a yarn about losing her virginity. Unfortunately for her, her classmates take it as gospel and start branding her as promiscuous!
Later, Olive assumes the role of a self-styled ‘Easy Street,’ providing false promises of romantic services to fellow students in exchange for payment.
The movie, featuring Penn Badgley, Amanda Bynes, Lisa Kudrow, Stanley Tucci, and others, drew some of its inspiration from Nathaniel Hawthorne’s 1850 novel “The Scarlet Letter.” (or: The movie, with Penn Badgley, Amanda Bynes, Lisa Kudrow, Stanley Tucci, and more in the cast, was partly influenced by Nathaniel Hawthorne’s 1850 novel “The Scarlet Letter.”)
14 years since the movie premiered, we catch up with the actors who were part of it to see what they’re up to now on DailyMail.com.
1. Emma Stone (Olive Pendergast)
35-year-old Stone portrayed a seventeen-year-old high school student residing in Ojai, California, in the film.
After Olive falsely claimed that she had lost her virginity to a man named George, her life underwent a significant shift. Soon enough, several other untruths she had spoken were misunderstood and rapidly circulated throughout her school.
stone’s acting garnered her a nod for the golden globe as best actress in a comedy/musical category, as well as teen choice award and MTV movie award wins.
She made a significant impact with her first major acting gig. Before this, she had small parts in various television shows and movies like “Superbad,” “Zombieland,” and “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.
Her performance in Easy A launched her career and established her as a rising star in Hollywood.
Subsequently, she appeared in movies like The Help (2011), Crazy, Stupid, Love (2011), and the Spider-Man films from 2012 to 2014.
In the films Birdman or (The Unforeseen Worth of Ignorance) in 2014, La La Land in 2016, and The Favourite in 2018, she received Academy Award nominations for her performances.
She won her first Oscar for La La Land.

Together they live in Austin, Texas.
2. Penn Badgley (Woodchuck Todd)
Penn Badgley, 37, played Todd in Easy A.
He was the guy Olive had had a crush on since childhood and the one who played the school mascot.
Before playing his current movie role, he gained popularity by portraying Dan Humphrey on the hit TV show Gossip Girl, which aired from 2007 to 2012. During this time, he acted alongside his real-life partner, Blake Lively.
He also appeared in films like John Tucker Must Die, Drive-Thru, and The Stepfather.
One way to rephrase this sentence could be: Lately, his standout contributions are found in the Netflix psychological thriller series “You,” where he’s portrayed the character Joe Goldberg since 2018.
Badgley began dating singer Domino Kirke in 2014.
The two married in 2017, and he became the stepfather of Kirke’s son.
2020 saw the announcement of their upcoming first child, which they welcomed as their son later that same year.
3. Amanda Bynes (Marianne)
In a different phrase, we can say that Amanda Bynes, aged 38, portrayed Marianne, who was the head of the school’s Cross Your Heart club. This religious organization tended to pass judgment on individuals such as Olive due to their actions deemed ungodly.
Easy A was her last listed acting credit.
Once a prominent child actor rising to fame as a Hollywood teenage sensation, known for her bright future in the entertainment industry, Bynes stepped away from acting due to a mix of personal challenges, such as battles with mental health concerns and substance use.
2023 saw her taken into protective care for psychiatric evaluation, when she was discovered without clothing and by herself in the downtown Los Angeles area during the wee hours of the night.
Born in California, this celebrity kicked off her career in show business at just seven years old. She soon rose to fame as one of the most prominent young actors of her era, gracing television series such as All That and The Amanda Show on Nickelodeon.
In the course of events, I found myself dominating the teenage romantic comedy scene, gracing several blockbuster productions such as She’s the Man, where I shared the screen with Channing Tatum in 2006, not forgetting Big Fat Liar and What a Girl Wants.
Oh boy, I couldn’t believe my luck when it seemed like everything was finally falling into place for her, the star shining brighter than ever. But then, just as swiftly as a bolt from the blue, her world came crashing down following a 2012 DUI arrest. To make matters worse, she found herself facing two misdemeanor charges of hit-and-run, leaving me and countless others stunned and saddened by the turn of events.
Moreover, her problems did not stop at that point. The subsequent year found the actress subjected to a conservatorship that lasted for nine years, a consequence of ongoing battles with mental health and addiction concerns.
In 2019, Bynes checked into a mental health facility following a relapse.
In 2018, it was reported that the former child actor chose to make a return to Hollywood, and this choice apparently triggered her relapse.
After facing a challenge, it seemed that the retired actress was thriving, going so far as to complete her studies at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in June 2019.
2022 marked the end of Britney Spears’ nine-year conservatorship when a judge decided that the legal structure was no longer necessary.
In 2020, on Valentine’s Day, Bynes unexpectedly announced her engagement to Paul Michael, following a tumultuous relationship that started when they lived together at a sobriety facility.
She later called off the engagement in 2022.

As a lifestyle connoisseur looking back at my storied career, I can’t help but fondly remember the incredible honor bestowed upon me: winning an Emmy for Best Actress, all thanks to the captivating role I portrayed from 1994 to 2004. Sharing this journey with the exceptional cast members Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, Courteney Cox, and Matthew Perry was truly a privilege. In the later seasons of our smash hit sitcom, we earned an astounding $1M per episode – a testament to the enduring appeal of our beloved show.
Apart from that, she lent her voice to Judy Elk in the animated Facebook Watch series titled “Human Discoveries,” and portrayed Charmaine in the film “Booksmart,” directed by Olivia Wilde.
Her most recent credit includes TV series Time Bandits, where she starred as Penelope.
As for her personal life, Kudrow has been married to Michel Stern since 1995.

Patricia Clarkson, 64, played Rosemary, Olive’s quirky mother.
Additionally, Clarkson was featured with Amy Adams in the HBO miniseries Sharp Objects, which is an adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s book.
She won a Golden Globe for the supporting role in 2019.
In one of my roles, I stepped into the shoes of Adora Crellin, a domineering southern matriarch who raised Camille Preaker (Adams) and Emma Crellin (Eliza Scanlen).
Following a string of gruesome killings of young females, the return of estranged daughter Camille is prompted so she can examine these cases for her publication. As time passes, Camille’s encounters with Adora become more and more sinister and twisted.
The show garnered positive reviews from critics, with particular recognition going to the outstanding performances delivered by Amy and Patricia.
She also played Ava Paige in the Maze Runner films, based on James Dashner’s dystopian novels.
7. Cam Gigandet (Micah)
In a new role, actor Cam Gigandet, aged 42, portrayed Micah, a university-aged character, who became romantically involved with Mrs. Griffith. This illicit relationship led to Micah contracting chlamydia.
