EastEnders Shock: Lacey Turner Quits as Stacey After 40th Anniversary Tragedy!
Actress Lacey Turner, best known for her role on EastEnders, has disclosed that she plans to depart the series. The showrunners are reportedly brainstorming an impressive plotline for her character’s farewell scene.
Initially, the actress played Stacey Slater on the show in 2004. She left the series in 2010 but returned to her character again in 2014.
As a devoted devotee, I myself am sharing the news that I’ll be stepping away from the screen later this year, choosing instead to prioritize my professional obligations and cherished family moments. There seems to be an undercurrent of excitement brewing about the potential drama unfolding in the lead-up to my departure, as hinted by those in charge.
In a simple family setup, the star has three kids – a five-year-old daughter named Dusty, a three-year-old son called Trilby Fox, and their newest addition, Gipsy Olive, who arrived in January of this year, and is their baby girl.
She mentioned that it’s high time for both me and Stacey to have some downtime. It’s hard to predict what Stacey might do during her break, but one thing’s for sure – with Stacey around, things are bound to stay interesting.
A representative from EastEnders stated: “We are able to verify that Lacey will not appear on the show towards the end of this year. However, there’s still a lot of exciting drama ahead before then, and we eagerly await the opportunity to plan Stacey’s return when Lacey feels it’s the appropriate time.

In my expert opinion, last year I chose to step away from the spotlight for a while. It’s been quite an eventful year, with plenty happening both in front of and behind the camera. So, it seems like the perfect moment to take a well-deserved break, giving myself some much-needed rest, Stacey.
It’s well-known that Lacey adores EastEnders, and the feeling seems mutual. Therefore, it’s not a matter of ‘if’ she returns, but rather ‘when’.
In early February, I stepped back briefly from my maternity break to grace the stage for a special milestone event – EastEnders’ 40th Anniversary live episode. In this poignant moment, Stacey’s husband Martin Fowler met an unfortunate end in the Queen Vic blast.
Initially, I thought Martin was successfully freed from beneath the fallen beam, but my hopes quickly dwindled as firefighters frantically attempted to revive him; tragically, he had suffered a fatal heart failure.
In a heartrending turn of events, Stacey Slater (played by Lacey Turner) found herself overwhelmed with tears as Martin took his last breath right before her very eyes, mere moments after declaring his affection for her and popping the question.
In a tragic turn of events, the emotional scene concluded as Stacey clung to Martin’s unresponsive form, her anguished cries echoing through the Queen Vic, reaching the ears of those on the outside who were anxiously awaiting updates.
In her latest conversation with TopMob, Lacey candidly discussed issues surrounding high living expenses and negative stereotypes about parenthood. She added that regardless of one’s profession, everyone faces similar challenges.
The actress who gave birth to her third child in January, recently shared insights about the challenges that new parents face as costs keep climbing.

The star has teamed up with the baby formula company Bonya, aiming to combat the negative perception associated with using infant formula and budget-consciousness within the UK amidst the current economic hardship.
Lacey, who has portrayed Stacey Slater on the BBC soap opera since 2004, commented: “One simply does their best. In essence, beneath all our differences and professions, we are all alike.
You might work as a broker, or perhaps as a hairdresser, or even a gardener – regardless of our professions, we all encounter similar challenges every day.
While some folks may have higher earnings compared to others, it’s essential to remember that each individual faces unique challenges in life. Beneath any exterior differences lies the reality that we shouldn’t jump to conclusions about people we’re not familiar with. After all, you never truly know the struggles another person might be dealing with.
As a devoted enthusiast, I find myself gazing at my receipt in disbelief, muttering to myself, “When did the cost escalate so drastically? A mere £70 shopping spree has now morphed into a staggering £120! Oh my goodness, I can’t believe I’m going to have to skip those items again.
In essence, we’re all alike beneath the surface, and it boils down to our tendency to judge and the stress that comes with wanting the finest things. Unfortunately, people often feel compelled to spend more than necessary on these items, but this mentality shouldn’t persist.

As I’ve gathered from The Daily Star and OK!, it seems my earnings for my role in the soap fall within the range of £150,000 to £190,000. Interestingly enough, this puts me on par with Gillian Taylforth, a beloved cast member known for her portrayal of Kathy Beale.
After bringing my daughter Gipsy Olive into the world in January, I find myself deeply grateful for having three wonderful kids and an incredible family.
She shared: ‘I consider myself fortunate to have Matt, and together, we make an excellent team. I deeply cherish my role as a parent. While it presents difficulties like any other parent might encounter, I find joy in it, finding pleasure in observing their growth and experiencing the uniqueness of each day.’
They’re tiny, evolving, stumbling, and adjusting; they have unique needs. You’re also growing and teaching them, making this an incredibly beautiful adventure together.
‘Managing this comes with its own set of difficulties – constant choices weigh on your mind. Am I ensuring they read enough, or are they consuming too much junk in terms of television or food? I strive for the best we can manage within our home, and it seems to be working out well for us.’
