EastEnders cast ‘have ring of steel around them at NTAs as security is beefed up over stalker fears’

As someone who has spent years following the drama of EastEnders and other soaps, I must say this ‘ring of steel’ business is becoming all too real. It’s not just the high stakes of the storylines we have to worry about now, but also our beloved actors being stalked by overzealous fans.

It’s been reported that a security perimeter, or essentially a protective barrier, was established for the EastEnders cast during the National Television Awards on Wednesday, allegedly because of a stalker.

Multiple soap actors such as Jessie Wallace, Adam Woodyatt, and Jacqueline Jossa were present at an event held at the O2 Arena in London.

However, as reported by The Sun, the group has faced issues with an overenthusiastic fan whose presence at the event was a cause for concern.

Additional safety measures were allegedly implemented to safeguard the celebrities, with images of the potential stalker being circulated among the security team, so they would be aware of whom to keep a watchful eye on.

As a lifestyle expert, I can share that the presence of numerous high-profile celebrities at the O2 venue necessitated enhanced security measures. However, the potential risk to the cast of EastEnders required even more stringent precautions to ensure their safety.

‘An image of the suspected stalker was sent among staff so they knew who to look out for.’

It’s reported that the stalker broadcasted information about getting tickets for the NTAs and expressing a desire to encounter the EastEnders actors, by repeatedly contacting them online.

Additionally, it’s said that the actors found refuge at a local pub called Enderby House before the awards ceremony, as they all enjoyed a round of drinks together.

The source said: ‘Management needed to set boundaries at some point, and when it became evident that the stalker intended to be present at the gathering, action was required.’

Safeguards are already in place at the NTAs where fans can buy tickets to attend the red carpet.

TopMob has contacted a representative of EastEnders for comment.

On the evening when the Serial Drama award was presented, EastEnders unfortunately did not win; instead, Emmerdale took home the prize.

For an impressive 23rd time, Ant and Dec were recognized with the prestigious Best Presenter award, steering the major victors throughout the evening’s festivities.

On this particular occasion, Ant and Dec maintained their impressive winning spree, but it was Mr. Bates who triumphed with a grand total of three awards that evening.

I am utterly thrilled and overjoyed to share that I’ve been honored with the prestigious award for Serial Drama Performance! The recognition is for my critically-admired portrayal in the extraordinary series we all love. It feels surreal and humbling to be a part of such an amazing production. Truly, this accolade belongs as much to the team that brought the series to life as it does to me. I am just grateful to have been a small part of this incredible journey!

During his speech, the actor extended his heartfelt congratulations to Sir Alan Bates, the dedicated Post Office campaigner, who recently got married to his long-term partner Susanne, over the weekend on Richard Branson’s personal island.

Despite a year plagued with scandals and controversy, Strictly Come Dancing scooped the prize for Talent Show.

Despite concerns surrounding allegations of abuse against professional dancers Giovanni Pernice and Graziano Di Prima, the BBC’s show managed to outshine Britain’s Got Talent, The Great British Bake Off, Masterchef, and The Voice to secure one of the evening’s major awards.

The National Television Awards (NTAs) are determined by public votes, and the victory of Strictly Come Dancing this year underscores that the audience remains enthusiastic about the program as it gears up for its 20th season this coming Saturday evening.
