Eamonn Holmes Shares Candid Health Update After Hospital Rush and Painful ‘Flare Up’

Eamonn Holmes recently provided a health report, explaining that he was admitted to the hospital due to ongoing health issues he’s been experiencing over several months.

65-year-old broadcaster encountered a delay in his recuperation process following an accidental fall at home earlier this month.

On Thursday, Emmanuel shared on Instagram that he is dealing with a flare-up and plans to rest as he enjoys some timeless movies.

Posting a selfie with a black cowboy hat on, he wrote: “Greetings Travelers … I’ve been experiencing some tension in my neck and head due to a recent fall. My doctor suggested taking a break to watch some western films for healing. So here I am, ready for the ride!

Here are three movies on my list: Russell Crowe in “3:10 to Yuma,” John Wayne in “Red River,” and Kevin Costner in “Dances with Wolves.” Watching these films is like therapy – I feel so much better now… but it still hurts! (Ouch!!)

It comes after the TV presenter admitted that he was in a lot of pain.

Accompanying an image shared on Instagram from the ambulance, he wrote: ‘An unforeseen trip this morning… fell in the bathroom and ow! It’s painful. Thanks to the EMS team.’

After a few hours, he posted a photo taken from his hospital bed with the caption: “I wasn’t planning to spend The Holiday this way… Life isn’t simple these days. Gratitude to everyone taking care of me.

Since undergoing back surgery in 2022, Eamonn has faced numerous health challenges, leading him to depend on a walking frame or wheelchair. He recently posted a picture from his bed with the caption: “These days, life isn’t a walk in the park.

This year in March, he openly shared that his issues persist, posting on Instagram, “Even on sunny days, there’s still pain. At times, it seems like I’ll never conquer this immobility, but I’m resolute about living my life…

‘So pray for me, help me or get out of the way Social Media haters.’

2016 saw Eamonn going through a double hip replacement surgery, following years of severe discomfort.

While discussing his surgery then, Eamonn expressed: “Were I anxious? Not a bit of it! It was as if I were simply appearing on television. Beforehand, I was tense – could I pull this off? Would I manage it?

The previous evening was somewhat peculiar as individuals began expressing their admiration towards me: “Eamonn, you were exceptional and I’ll never forget the times when you did such and such.” It felt akin to experiencing death yet still being alive.

Two years later, he encountered a distinct health challenge when he was unexpectedly hit by shingles. This illness had the potential to disrupt Declan’s wedding day.

In 2021, Eamonn’s chronic back pain had begun and it seemingly came completely of the blue.

Due to the intense pain, Eamonn had to rely on a cane for support, yet he eventually discovered the underlying reason.

He eventually discovered it was three slipped discs that affected the movement of his right leg.

On Thursday, Eamonn’s separated spouse, Ruth Langsford, who is 65 years old, had to cancel her scheduled two-hour television appearance on QVC due to falling ill with a stomach infection.

In 2017, she launched her fashion line and appears weekly on the show. However, she recently shared on her Instagram Story that she won’t be able to host tonight’s episode on QVC UK due to a terrible stomach illness.

Star says: ‘I’m grateful that Melissa Hardy is taking over for me. She has some amazing new items coming up, and I invite you to check them out with her!'”

This version maintains the original meaning while using more natural and easy-to-read language. The sentence structure is simpler, and the words used are more common in everyday conversation.

In addition to the recent announcement, Ruth, who parted ways with her TV presenter husband back in May, also posted a photo featuring herself and Melissa Hardy, a fashion stylist, who is set to take over her show for now, as they both flash their smiles.

Last December 2021, Eamonn shared with The Sun that his ongoing issues with a compressed sciatic nerve affected not only him but also his family, who had to assist him with daily chores.

He confessed, “This year has been quite challenging for me. For quite some time now, I’ve struggled with mobility issues, even completely losing the ability to walk at times, which has affected not only me but also those close to me significantly.

Due to my inability to bend over, it often falls upon Ruth Langsford to assist me with picking things up. I’m aware that our sons may feel a bit awkward about how I move around.

In September 2022, Eamonn had to temporarily leave his GB news program due to the necessity of undergoing crucial back surgery to alleviate his long-standing backache.

His battle with chronic back pain started after a dislocated pelvis led to three slipped discs.

After undergoing surgery, he disclosed that even with physical therapy, his limited mobility hinders him from performing everyday tasks, leaving him dependent on others. He characterized this situation as heart-wrenchingly frustrating.

He posted on X (previously known as Twitter): ‘I put in a lot of effort at my physical therapy this morning, it was exhausting. However, I’ve been sitting idle for the past 5 hours now, and I can’t help but feel guilty about not being productive.’

Limited mobility and needing assistance from others makes it challenging for me to accomplish even the most basic tasks. To alleviate my anxiety, I think a fresh round of foot exercises is necessary.

Following his spinal operation, he also experienced weakness in his left leg. Less than three weeks post-surgery, Eamonn accidentally tumbled down a flight of 18 stairs at his Weybridge residence, landing hard on a stone floor below.

The severe accident nearly took his life, but instead, he survived with a fractured shoulder and even more fragile legs.

Previously, the host of This Morning openly acknowledged that the incident where he broke his shoulder after falling represented a significant obstacle for him.

Eamonn shared with GB News that he had fractured his shoulder in a fall, which is a significant setback for him as it requires additional time to recover and heal properly.

These past couple of weeks have been incredibly challenging, but step by step, I’m seeing improvement. I’m keeping my spirits high and focusing on finding the silver lining in every situation.

One year post his spinal surgery, Eamonn opted for a spinal and neck extension treatment in September 2023, as he acknowledged that he was unable to walk.

Eamonn openly acknowledged that he was still struggling following his back surgery, stating plainly: “I can’t engage in any physical activities like running or walking. All I can manage is watching TV and eating.

Last year, I encountered issues with my back that I have yet to fully recover from. To be honest, it’s not ideal, and I wouldn’t wish this situation on anyone.
