As a seasoned observer and critic of the entertainment industry, I must say that the feud between Eamonn and Phil seems to be one for the history books. Having spent decades in this business myself, I’ve seen my fair share of tiffs, but none quite as vicious and bitter as this one.

Eamonn Holmes’ feelings towards Phillip Schofield grew so strong that he doesn’t have any second thoughts about his heated exchanges, which seemingly contributed to problems in his relationship with wife Ruth Langsford as it came to an end.

A trusted confidant of Eamonn, aged 64, has disclosed that he maintains his strong, critical opinions regarding Philip, and these comments reportedly caused Ruth to feel disappointed near the end of their matrimony.

On ITV’s popular talk show, Loose Women, Ruth continues to shine regularly. It was reported that she found it uncomfortable when her husband expressed his opinions about the channel and felt let down by them.

In May, they officially ended their 14-year long marriage, as professional obligations caused their paths to diverge. Since then, Eamonn has been spotted vacationing with his new partner, Katie Alexander.

The presenter publicly expressed his negative feelings towards the celebrity, and their harsh exchanges ignited a heated dispute, which is now known as one of the most significant ones in the entertainment industry.

As a dedicated follower, I can share that my disdain towards Philip has been simmering for quite some time, yet it reached boiling point during the dissolution of my marriage with Ruth. As my animosity towards him and ITV intensified, so did the chasms in our relationship.

Ruth felt somewhat discouraged towards Eamonn, as he persistently criticized ITV following their dismissal from This Morning.

Ruth didn’t find it particularly enjoyable. However, as a solid and integral part of the Loose Women group, it put her in an uncomfortable position when Eamonn was critiquing ITV.

‘But Eamonn loathes Phillip and has no regrets about what he said and certainly doesn’t think he threw him under the bus.

He has no remorse for his actions; instead, he thinks he’s addicted to the limelight, and he finds it hard to believe that he’s tried to re-emerge with his documentary this week.

‘Eamonn is trying to move on with his life, and has no plans to ever make it up with Philip.’

Eamonn declined to comment when contacted by Mail Online.

However, a confidant of the presenter noted that attributing his remarks concerning Philip or ITV to issues in his marriage would be misleading.

Back in November 2021, I found myself utterly heartbroken when Eamonn and Ruth were unexpectedly let go from “This Morning” after an amazing 15-year run. The Friday show will never be the same without them, but Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond are more than capable of filling their shoes! I can’t wait to see what they bring to the table!

Eamonn strongly felt unfairly dismissed by ITV, asserting that no clear explanation for his termination was provided.

His frustration over the situation was intensified by his conviction that Philip received unwavering backing from ITV, regardless of his off-set behavior, a viewpoint also held by Philip’s previous co-host Fern Britton and Amanda Holden. During Holly’s maternity leave in 2015, they temporarily filled in for him as co-hosts on This Morning.

The event supported Eamonn’s view that Philip was frequently admired, even though he exhibited poor conduct offstage, according to various sources.

On a Monday, Eamonn delivered a fierce response towards Philip prior to his return to television, stating that he felt “extremely satisfied for having stepped on his toes” or simply put, “I’m happy I threw him under the bus.

During the conversation about Philip’s controversial return to television on Channel 5’s show Cast Away, Eamonn openly expressed his opinion.

On the GB News Breakfast show hosted by Isobel Webster on Monday, Schofield stated that he felt like he had been betrayed. Holmes, in response, expressed pride if she was among those who supposedly pushed him aside: “If I’m among those who allegedly left him behind, I’m quite proud of it…

‘This man is addicted to fame, absolutely addicted to fame.’

Holmes, known for his open aversion towards Schofield, later expressed that Schofield should be living under banishment.

For nearly three decades, I’ve had the privilege of knowing both Philip and Eamonn. Over this time, whispers of a strained relationship have been around us for months, but it is my belief that only time will truly reveal the state of their bond.

On GMTV, it was Holmes who was the host, while Schofield handled This Morning. Then, in 2006, Holmes joined Schofield on the daytime show.

To maintain harmony on the cherished daytime show on ITV, Holmes and Schofield made an effort to hide their personal tension from each other.

In my line of work as a lifestyle expert, I’ve always emphasized the importance of empathy and understanding. When Phillip came out as gay on This Morning in February 2020, I found Eamonn to be a shining example of support – even though rumors suggest he was seething with anger over being compelled to endorse someone he held in such disfavor.

These days, they no longer pretend to get along. Their disdain for each other is so palpable that they go out of their way to avoid each other, even crossing the street if necessary, as reported by a source who spoke to The Daily Mail.

In the world of show business, disagreements often occur more among women, but the feud between Eamonn and Phil stands out as one of the most acrimonious and vindictive conflicts ever seen on TV.

‘They hate one another. Eamonn cannot stand Phil, and while he never used to talk about it, now he just doesn’t care. He thinks Phil is a disgrace and a liar.

‘Phil keeps quiet about it all but the feeling is mutual.’

The pair’s feud began with an incident involving Holmes’s former wife Ruth Langsford.

In the year 2019, she lodged a formal grievance towards Schofield following an instance where she was abruptly interrupted during her speech by the host, while discussing the contents of her segment on “This Morning”.

Philip spoke on-air, “Alas, we must interrupt as we’re running short on time here. Thanks, Ruth.

In a lackluster manner, Ruth retorted, “I had just a couple more phrases left,” before slamming her pen angrily on the table. Later, this interaction was detailed by Schofield in his 2020 memoir titled Life’s What You Make It.

Eamonn felt quite upset because he had gone out of his way to show support for Schofield when he came out on live television.

Upon learning from ITV superiors about Schofield’s announcement as they both reported to work that February 2020 morning, he was noticed giving Schofield a warm hug.

According to a source, Eamonn was made to feel taken advantage of by Phil during the scenes where he came out. It seems they were both required to be present, and it gave the impression they were close friends.

Initially, sharp-sighted spectators claimed it as false; later on, it was confirmed to be so. For quite some time, Eamonn has harbored disdain towards Schofield.

After Holmes left ITV, the rage grew even stronger. As soon as Schofield confessed his affair with the individual known as Person X, as per ITV executives, he let out his wrath.

It’s believed that Eamonn and Ruth felt deeply hurt by the way Schofield handled his relationship with his young This Morning co-worker, as he was having an affair with her while still married.

Ruth had a close relationship with the young man since he eventually joined the same show where she served as a host, known as Loose Women.

According to someone familiar with the situation, Eamonn had a negative opinion towards everything that transpired. He was unaware of the relationship and felt deceived, much like other coworkers of Schofield. This deceit ultimately pushed him over the edge; he could no longer stay silent about it.

In a recent chat following Schofield’s revelation, I couldn’t help but share my deep-seated affection for this young man. You see, Ruth and I took special care of him, nurturing our bond like devoted fans would.

He never mentioned anything about his relationships to us, yet it was clear he was going through a difficult time emotionally. It’s crucial that we show immense compassion toward this young man.

During the same chat, he let rip at Phillip, saying that he ‘created an atmosphere where people hated him… he didn’t look at anybody. He is a complete and utter dyed-in-the-wool narcissist.’

According to friends of Schofield, he was deeply distressed by the interview and they believe that it further aggravated an unstable mental condition following his resignation from ITV after confessing to his affair.
