EA Sports FC 25’s Second Gameplay Deep Dive Focuses Upon 5v5 Rush Mode
As a long-time football game enthusiast, I have been eagerly awaiting the release of EA Sports FC 25. The latest gameplay deep dive trailer for this upcoming title has piqued my interest even more with its introduction of the new 5v5 Rush mode. Having spent countless hours playing Volta Football in FIFA 20, I’m excited to see how this new mode will differ and build upon that experience.
Today, EA released a new trailer providing an in-depth look at the gameplay for EA Sports FC 25. In this video, they highlight the introduction of the 5v5 Rush mode, which will replace the Volta Football mode from FIFA 20.
Danillo Abreu, a game designer, describes Rush as a “compact, social football game for five players.” It retains the same controls and football mechanics as larger 11v11 matches. The game is played on a smaller field, and its unique rules and formats ensure continuous action with minimal interruptions.
As an avid gamer, I’m excited to share that in the new game version, I get to control four outfield players on my team, while the AI handles our goalkeeper’s duties. Severe fouls result in a ‘blue card’, which ejects the offending player from the game for a minute. This feature will be accessible across various modes such as Ultimate Team, Clubs, Manager Career, and Kick Off.
In the gameplay video below, you’ll discover plenty more information about Rush mode. For a deeper understanding, check out our EA Sports FC 25 preview here, where we got an up-close look. Additionally, you may want to review our previous in-depth analysis here.
The new version of EA Sports FC, named FC 25, will be released on September 27 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and personal computers.
