Dylan O’Brien’s “jaw-droppingly unexpected” comedy-drama finally confirms UK release date

I’m so excited! Dylan O’Brien’s movie, Twinless, which everyone’s been talking about, is finally coming to the UK! It actually came out way back in January and had a release in the US in September, but I’m thrilled we’re finally getting it here.

After premiering at the BFI London Film Festival, the film will be available to audiences in the UK and Ireland in cinemas starting February 6, 2026.

I just heard about this film called Twinless, and it sounds really interesting. It’s about two twins who both recently lost their other halves – their twins, obviously – and they meet in a grief support group. Apparently, they end up becoming close friends, almost like brothers, as they both try to figure out who they are now that their twin is gone. It seems like a really touching story.

What to Read Next

The two quickly become very close, but past hurts resurface and will permanently damage their friendship, according to the synopsis.

I’m absolutely blown away by this movie! It’s got a crazy-high 97% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 128 reviews, which is amazing. And The Guardian said it’s full of twists and turns, and totally unexpected – I can’t wait to see it!

RogerEbert.com called the film a smart and darkly funny comedy, praising its well-crafted jokes. The Observer described it as heartwarming, funny, and ultimately captivating.

According to TheWrap, the movie’s starting point – two men bonding in a grief support group – is just the beginning. The film quickly subverts expectations and takes the story in unexpected directions.

James Sweeney wrote and stars in Twinless, alongside Lauren Graham (known from Gilmore Girls), Aisling Franciosi (The Fall), Chris Perfetti (Abbott Elementary), and François Arnaud (UnReal).

Sweeney described the project as an exploration of feelings of loneliness, questions of identity, and the possibility of forgiveness.

He reflected that loneliness can be devastating, a sense of self is constantly changing, and people don’t appreciate forgiveness enough. He also mentioned a fourth important idea, but said he couldn’t share it just yet.

I truly love this film and I’m incredibly grateful to the team who worked on it with me for so long. We’re thrilled that audiences in the UK and Ireland will finally get to see Twinless. While we all start and end life alone, we can share experiences like going to the movies together – and that’s special.

Twinless premieres in UK and Irish cinemas on 6 February, 2026.

The latest issue of Living Legends is now available! You can find Ariana & Witches at newsstands or online for only £8.99.
