Dylan Efron Hints at Major Career Shift at Variety TV Fest
Zac Efron’s resemblance, Dylan, implied a significant shift in his professional path when he attended the Variety’s FYC TV Fest with his fellow Traitors cast members in Hollywood on Wednesday.
This star, aged 33, operates discreetly within the production process as a coordinator. They’ve contributed to numerous ventures, such as American Sniper, Live by Night, and Ready Player One.
In January, he first appeared on television in the third series of The Traitors US, a reality show. This season culminated with Dylan and his fellow Faithfuls deciding to terminate the game and divide a prize money of approximately $204,300 (around £153,600).
Currently gracing the stage at the “Meet the Makers” event alongside stars Rob Mariano, Dolores Catania, and Bob the Drag Queen, this prominent figure playfully hinted that enthusiasts might catch a glimpse of even more from him in the future.
When Emily Longeretta inquired whether it was an instant agreement for him to join the reality competition program, he explained that it wasn’t a quick “yes”. Instead, his response was simply expressing that he had never participated in a reality show before.
I’ve had opportunities to try out for reality TV shows, such as Survivor, but I’ve never accepted those offers.

He added: ‘For the first time, I felt confident that I could take on the task. After some consideration, I agreed.’
‘You turned down Survivor?’ Emily asked.
To set the record straight, I haven’t received an actual offer for Survivor. Instead, it was more like a suggestion: “We believe you’d make a great fit, how about you schedule an audition whenever you’re ready?
In simpler terms, it seems you were referring to situations similar to reality shows such as Love Island, which you found yourself unable to participate in. However, you expressed a sense of readiness for something new, saying it was more like, “I think I might be prepared now.
Before his appearance on The Traitors (which concluded on March 6), his elder brother had been full of admiration for him.
Previously, Zac, aged 37, expressed his conviction that his younger sibling would triumph over all the co-stars.
‘I think he’s going to win,’ Zac said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight in June 2024.
‘He’s really good at games, and I just have a good feeling about it.’

He also added that Dylan has always had luck on his side when it comes to gambling and games.
‘He is just the best at games. Growing up, he was a first-roll-[at-Yahtzee]-kind-of-dude.’
A month ago, Dylan disclosed that he had rescued two girls from drowning at Miami Beach, Florida. This is the recent event we’re referring to.
In a daring act reminiscent of his on-screen character, the famous sibling, who played a leading role in the 2017 film Baywatch alongside his brother Zac, stepped up as a real-life lifeguard by quickly swimming into the water to save the ladies.
On their podcast, Brooke & Connor, Dylan shared that he observed them battling against powerful currents, reminding him of a harrowing experience he had before.
He mentioned: ‘It was quite unexpected. I went to the beach for the very first time, right there on the sand.’

For the very first time, I approached the seashore and gazed out, only to see people shrieking amidst the waves.
Just now, I observed around five females. Their arms were raised, and they seemed to be shouting. There are individuals on the beach, also with their arms raised.
Looking around, we found ourselves without any lifeguards nearby. My friend Brennan and I then took off running towards the water without hesitation.
Initially, we found ourselves near two individuals who were being assisted by someone. Meanwhile, there were three others at a distance. So, I helped one of them reach us, and then I swam to help another female from the distant group.
In a very genuine manner, I must say that experience felt incredibly authentic. As I attempted to console the young lady I had recently saved from drowning, I simply urged her to breathe deeply. To my surprise, she responded by enveloping me in the warmest and most heartfelt embrace.
We embraced for about a minute, much like the embrace of that girl on land, with an unspoken message of safety and well-being. Following our brief moment together, we simply continued walking.
He often finds himself in the water, so he instinctively knew that the current was strong enough to carry us quite a distance – about the size of a soccer field away. It’s likely the girls drifted too far off.
In the 2017 movie “Baywatch,” which was shot at Florida’s Emerald Bay, Zac portrayed the fresh, muscular lifeguard character.
