DWTS Fans Think They Figured Out One Celeb’s Identity, And I Have A Petty Reason For Wanting The Reality Star In Season 34

The popular show “Dancing with the Stars” is set to return in 2025, but only six celebrities have been officially confirmed by ABC so far. The lineup of professional dancers isn’t finalized yet either, as a dancer from an Eras Tour was recently added to the cast. Fans on social media believe they’ve identified at least one unannounced celebrity, and I really hope it’s true because I’m eager to cheer him on. Could Dylan Efron be competing for the mirrorball trophy this autumn?

Dylan Efron is not part of the initial group of celebrities unveiled for Season 34. Instead, notable figures like wildlife conservationist Robert Irwin, son of Steve Irwin and brother of Season 21 champion Bindi Irwin; Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt from the cast of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives”; Alex Baldwin’s real-life wife Hilaria Baldwin; and social media personality Alix Earle have already been confirmed. However, the show’s Instagram account has been dropping hints for observant fans.

Amongst all the contestants for Dancing with the Stars Season 34, it’s Dylan Efron that has caught my attention, if online speculations are accurate about his inclusion in the lineup. Fresh from his successful stint on The Traitors, Dylan is relatively less well-known compared to other celebrity participants, beyond being the brother of popular figure Zac Efron (who’s also known for their golfing escapades sans shirts).

Besides excelling on the show, it appears that he formed an enduring friendship with Boston Rob Mariano, a renowned figure on Survivor. However, Zac Efron isn’t overly recognized in the reality TV realm yet, and that’s what makes him a prime candidate for DWTS. To put it simply, I prefer a contender from outside the Bachelor Nation bubble for this season. You can catch The Traitors streaming with a Peacock subscription.

Three out of the six latest winners of “Dancing with the Stars” were initially contestants on either “The Bachelor” or “The Bachelorette.” Although I don’t favor any contestant from Bachelor Nation specifically (despite my criticisms of Peter Weber during our conversation on Destination X), I’ve always felt that it gives an edge when a star from ABC’s popular romance reality show transitions to the dance show. It seems as though these stars already have an advantage because viewers who regularly watch ABC would’ve already been exposed to them through commercials for the recent seasons of Bachelor Nation, making them somewhat familiar with potential contestants on “DWTS.

It would be quite exciting to have a contestant from The Traitors, who recently shone on Peacock, join Dancing With the Stars this season. Both The Traitors and Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test have featured Bachelor Nation stars, along with Peter Weber appearing on Destination X. If a veteran of The Traitors were to appear on DWTS following their successful run on Peacock, it would certainly be a fresh breath this season!

However, it’s essential to note that Dylan Efron hasn’t officially been announced as part of the cast for Season 34 with Daniella Karagach. So, let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope for more exciting announcements!

The thirty-fourth season of “Dancing with the Stars” debuts on ABC on Tuesday, September 16, starting at 8 p.m. Eastern Time. If you have a Disney+ subscription, you’ll also be able to stream it online.
